Clean air deal is launched G

reat Ormond Street Hospital has launched a Clean Air Hospitals Framework (CAHF) setting out

how hospitals can reduce the impact their services have on the environment. Drawn up in partnership with Global

Action Plan; the commitment has been reviewed by representatives from the NHS Sustainable Development Unit (SDU), NHS Improvement, NHS England and the Department for Health and Social Care and comes with a foreword from Professor Stephen Holgate, the British Medical Research Council’s Clinical Professor of Immunopharmacology and an honorary consultant physician at the University of Southampton. depending on the total points scored compared to the total points available. Actions that hospitals can take range

from increasing charging provision for electric vehicles to providing patients with information on what they can do to reduce their exposure to air pollution. Sonia Roschnik, director of the NHS

SDU, spoke at the launch, saying: "The NHS Long-Term Plan sets clear commitments for the system to improve air quality and improve health. “It identifies targets for travel air
