Focus on Embroidery MADEIRA UK

Choose what is best for your business H

igh quality embroidery needs high quality threads – consumables are as important as the machine. As a market leading manufacturer embroiderers often ask Madeira which products they should use. The response being, it depends on whatʼs best for your business.

Consider your business sector, if producing garments for sectors with household usage i.e. fashion, sportswear, schoolwear and custom/promotional embroidery it is unlikely that these items will be bleached. Therefore, the best thread choice would be Madeira Classic rayon. Classic rayon is a viscose thread that can be washed up to 95°C. Very soft and flexible with a beautiful natural sheen made from the highest quality raw materials, precision engineered to run smoothly through your machine at high speeds of up to 1,200spm.

For garments that will be bleached Madeira Polyneon fits the bill, it is bleach resistant, very hard wearing and available in a beautiful range of colours including fluorescent shades.

Choose what is best for your business

Both ranges are available in a multitude of thicknesses helping you achieve fantastic clarity in small text, with our superfine threads Classic 60 and Polyneon 60 and 75. Reduce your stitch count when covering large areas with Madeira Classic 12 or 30. In terms of backing, Madeiraʼs most popular is a 40g multi way easy tear (BAK004), this allows the embroiderer to increase or decrease the number of layers used to give the preferred level of support for the garment being embroidered. Sometimes cut-away backing is required for more firm support of the garment; here Madeiraʼs 80g

(051PS89W) or 40g Weblon cut away backings are the most popular. Weblon is proving an incredibly popular new 40g cut away, with a different makeup to traditional backings Weblon has the strength of a much heavier backing, with an incredibly light and soft finish, the ideal solution for slippery, stretchy fabrics prone to puckering.

However it is worth noting that with backings, choice is very much down to personal preference and the large range of quality backings Madeira has worked to develop offers something for everyone.
