Open Day Get creative with your garment packaging
Are you looking for a more creative way to package your garments? Well look no further than Kingly. P&P editor Melanie Attlesey was invited to Kingly’s open day on Thursday, March 22 to find out more about this novel company and its innovative ideas.
cups. When it comes to packaging garments the possibilities are endless – all it takes is a little bit of imagination.
Y
ou name it, Kingly can do it. Everything from packaged garments compressed small enough to fit in a vending machine to towels that fit into coffee
This was demonstrated at Kinglyʼs open day which was held at the Bulgarian Embassy in London, where Rob Armour and his partner Dessy Traikova showcased a variety of possibilities to a carefully selected cohort of visitors. Rob explains that with the majority of T shirts, towelling products and socks packaged into individual poly bags this can only bring boring, stale promotions with
little return on investment. However, when it comes to promotions and events, creatively packaged garments which make the recipient smile and wonder is the best way to differentiate from the masses and create a lasting impression.
On display during the event was everything from packaging shaped into cars to socks compressed into tin cans, which certainly caught the eye of visitors.
Create a lasting impression
Rob was keen to address the quick turnaround in production on his range of knitted socks. “All of our socks are custom made to order. We used to order our Turkish yarn in Pantone colours which would take four weeks and on the fourth week we would knit the socks. It would take us six weeks to produce a thousand socks. Now we stock all of the yarn ourselves in our factory in Bulgaria. “We have over 720 colours in stock at any one time. The client chooses whichever colour closest resembles their branding and we go from there. The lead time has been reduced to 12 to 14 days now. There is a lot of flexibility with this product and we now offer one of the quickest lead times in Europe for knitted socks.”

As well as T shirts, towelling products and socks, Rob explains that he has plans to move away from the promotional garment market and into the promotional food market with his tin packaging. The tins are coated in a food safe lacquer, making them hygienic and ideal for storing dry food items such as nuts or sweets and it is here where Rob has seen a gap in the market. “T shirts are seasonal food is not. Everyone has to eat. Our nuts are freshly roasted and in blind taste tests routinely come out on top. We can see companies wanting to promote their brand on these tins in pubs, restaurants, supermarkets – anywhere. We can see these tins being really big for us,” says Rob.
Let the magic happen
Kingly not only creates the creative garment packing to suit customersʼ individual needs, but it also works with clients to produce the artwork and the printed product, taking the job right through from inception to completion. It is possible to send Kingly printed garments to compress and pack, but this has to work out cost-effectively in terms of numbers as all the magic happens in Kinglyʼs factory in Sofia, Bulgaria.

existing and potential clients in a neutral and relaxed environment. “I believed for many years that we could do everything through Google,” explains Rob who formed Kingly seven years ago. “Now I realise that you canʼt beat traditional, face-to-face contact. The quality of the clientele that came to the open
day was excellent and Iʼm really looking forward to what the future has in store.” So if youʼre looking for an alternative way to present your beautifully decorated garments, Kingly could be your answer.
