Step-by-step guide to using HTV
O
ne really interesting use case for HTV is printing onto trainers. Here’s how the step-by-step process looks for creating masterpieces…
1) Print and cut the design onto Evolution Print using a compatible solvent or latex printer.
2) Weed away the excess from the design and apply Universal Application Tape over the transfer.
3) Using a suitable heat press, place the trainer onto the platen and pre-press to flatten the print area (SEFA + Shoe Plate or suitable Pocket Press).
4) Place the transfer onto the trainer and press for five seconds at 140°C, peel hot.
5) Repeat onto the other trainer.
This particular process is perfect for canvas trainers but can be tweaked for a variety of materials.
Xpres stocks a huge range of HTV products, designed to meet the many different uses for this versatile method.
