HTV isn’t just for tees!
Xpres product manager, Grant Cooke, unveils how you can use heat transfer vinyl on more than just T shirts.
W ith garment
customisation and vinyl crafting on the
rise, the potential for creative and financial opportunities in the personalisation industry is huge. Heat transfer vinyl (HTV) is a great way of making the most of this. But this opportunity doesn’t just lie in T shirt design, as many might think… Most seem to think HTV and shirts go hand in hand. However, one of the great things about HTV is that there are so many different varieties of colours and finishes – glossy, matte, flock, glitter HTV to name just a few.
No matter what project you’ve got, there is a vinyl that’s perfect for it, working on cotton, polyester, blends, and denim.
The possibilities then extend beyond the normal wearable fabrics and into the home or office. Some surprising surfaces that allow for HTV include canvas, cork and non- wearable fabrics. For example, why not try on dish towels, placemats, blankets, and even sports balls? The list is almost endless!
