Printwear & Promotion LIVE! postponed until February 2022

B

ack in September the decision was made to postpone Printwear & Promotion LIVE! 2021 from the scheduled dates of February 21 to 23, until later in the year, with options of running the show in either May or June. However, with the ongoing COVID-19 situation, and the increased uncertainty surrounding events, it became increasingly apparent that it is no longer viable to hold the show in the first half of 2021.

The NEC in Birmingham remains shut and is unlikely to be able to reopen to host events, for some considerable while. Tony Gardner, event director, says: “Although it may be possible to delay the show till the end of the summer or the autumn, with our 2022 show scheduled for February 20 to 22, we do not think running two shows within six months is a sensible option for visitors or exhibitors. Also, as an early date in the year is preferred by all parties, we would not want to

push back the 2022 show dates.

“Therefore, we have taken the decision to cancel plans to run Printwear & Promotion LIVE! this year.” The 2022 show will take place in Hall 20 at the NEC from Sunday, February 20 to Tuesday, February 22.

Coloreel receives huge investment to support future growth S

wedish technology company, Coloreel, has raised SEK 100 million from Robur Ny Teknik to support the company’s market expansion and future growth.

The investment is worth approximately £8.6 million. Henrik Nyblom, manager at Robur Ny Teknik, said: “Coloreel has a very innovative solution that I think can be very big in the future. The company’s products speak to an increasingly environmentally conscious world and have fantastic sales opportunities in the coming years.” For just over 10 years, Coloreel has developed a pioneering technology that enables high-quality digital dyeing of textile thread at the same time as it is used in production. The well-patented technology can be used for embroidery, sewing, knitting and weaving, and more. Coloreel gives embroiderers a number of advantages such as improved logistics, zero set-up time when changing thread spools between each order, faster production, higher embroidery quality, no thread waste and above all a complete freedom in the use of colours. Customers get exactly the right colours, soft transitions and colour effects where only the imagination sets limits. The technology also provides major environmental benefits with greatly reduced water pollution and more efficient use of resources.

The interest from the market since the launch been very large, from smaller to the very largest brands in everything from lifestyle and sports to exclusive fashion. Despite the ongoing pandemic, Coloreel, with the help of existing distributors, has delivered its ground-breaking products to 11 countries in Europe, the United States and Asia, albeit in limited volumes.

Joakim Staberg, founder and main owner of Coloreel, added: “It is very fun that Robur Ny

Teknik, one of Sweden’s leading institutional investors in technology companies, wants to join us on the journey. It is further proof that we are on the right track.” Coloreel is distributed in the UK by AJS Embroidery Services.

K

ingly has announced that its upcycled sock collection now comes as standard with 100% post-consumer nylon and its sports socks with regenerated polyester.

The recycling process for the post-consumer nylon is ecologically sustainable as it is obtained from the waste of raw materials in the production phase that, if not recycled, would have to be disposed of in a waste plant. The 100% recycled polyester yarn used in the sports socks is recovered from plastic bottles. Production is environmentally-friendly by using a highly efficient recycling process that significantly reduces the consumption of C02, energy and water.

Both yarns are certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and GRS, to meet the needs of companies seeking to verify the recycled content of their products. Not only this, but Kingly now uses FSC certified packaging to pack its knitted socks.

Forest Stewardship Council certified packaging and materials are created from forests specifically intended for use in production, eliminating illegal deforestation of undesignated land.
