Kornit to establish new global business line dedicated to digital on-demand production management

G

uy Avidan has been appointed to the role of president of Kornit’s newly formed business line focused on accelerating the digital transformation of the textile industry to on-demand sustainable production. The inflection point in the textile industry and the massive shift to e-commerce continues to accelerate the need to digitally transform the supply chain and adopt on-demand sustainable textile production. The newly formed business line will focus on enabling brands, retailers, and marketplaces to realise the benefits of digitisation by connecting to the most suitable on-demand production and logistics operations, while ensuring consistency, quality and brand integrity. Ronen Samuel, Kornit’s CEO, said: “Interest in adopting our cloud workflow platform and network for on-demand sustainable production is extremely strong. We believe there is a huge opportunity here for Kornit to build a significant

incremental business and leverage the success of the Custom Gateway acquisition, which serves as the foundation for this strategic initiative. I am confident that Guy will lead this strategic initiative to great success and would like to thank him for his contribution to Kornit’s success in his years of service as our CFO.”

Alon Rozner has also been appointed as Kornit’s next chief financial officer.

In his latest role, Mr Rozner served as the CFO of Orbotech, a leading global supplier of yield-enhancing and process-enabling solutions for the electronics manufacturing industry.

He said: “I am excited to join Kornit as it continues to transform the textile industry and scale profitably. Kornit is extremely well positioned to capture the massive opportunity and I look forward to working with the team to achieve our goals and create value for all our stakeholders.”

FunkiFabrics supplies winners and losers costumes for I’m A Celeb task

anchester-based fabric supplier FunkiFabrics saw its bespoke printed products featured on Sunday, November 22’s episode of I’m A Celeb after working on winners and losers costumes with expert costumier James Maciver. The company worked with Mr Maciver on a brief from I’m A Celeb to produce a portcullis design for the winners and losers vests seen in the episode, which saw a boys team including athlete Mo Farah beat the girls in a typically gruesome challenge.

The base fabric was

heavyweight recycled polyester, accompanied by matt nylon lycra – both fabrics are fish gut, offal and slime resistant, but FunkiFabrics always

recommends a customer does their own thorough tests before using any materials in this kind of setting – and if there’s ever going to be a need for slime resistant fabrics it might be during 2020!

Helen Kaitiff, MD of FunkiFabrics, said: "We were delighted to tune into I'm a Celebrity and see our products on screen, and we loved working alongside James on this project. It's always really special to work on a bespoke project, and it's exciting to draw on our huge product range to work out the materials which best suit the needs of a client."

New leader at Gustav Daiber

Rolf Daiber and Kai Gminder T

here is now a new leader at the helm of Gustav Daiber. 66-year-old Rolf Daiber is passing the reins to his nephew – 43-year-old Kai Gminder. Mr Gminder is the fourth generation in the 108-year history of the company that was founded by Gustav Daiber. Mr Daiber took over from his father

Walter Daiber in 1974 at the age of 19. Now he is going to spend his retirement sailing and travelling.

Mr Gminder has been with the company for a number of years, working during the school holidays in the embroidery, ironing and printing departments, before taking the role of sales manager. Since 2012 he has been supporting his uncle as managing director.

2021 will see Daiber launch its software solution (ERP) and build online tools with which to support the company’s dealers. Warehouse space will also be optimised to provide more space for the constantly growing product range.
