Sandvik enters partnership with RISE S


andvik Coromant has entered into partnership with the


Application Center for Additive Manufacturing at RISE. “There are numerous challenges in additive manufacturing. Addressing some of these together with RISE and the centre’s other partners is going to be very exciting,” says Ulf Rolander, senior R&D expert på Sandvik Coromant. Additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing, enables a paradigm shift in the manufacturing industry, impacting various sectors. In an effort to support the manufacturing industry in embracing the technology and further the Swedish adoption of it, RISE founded the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing,

This will focus on expanding and diversifying Ricoh Europe’s product portfolio with highly responsive and agile large format systems for the graphics arts, interior décor, and industrial markets. Following the positive feedback and orders of Ricoh’s UV flatbed series, and the continuing market demand for flexible UV hybrid devices for sign and graphics applications, we wanted to explore how Ricoh technology could be combined with Flora’s manufacturing expertise to create responsive, versatile solutions that meets today’s market demands.

Gildan Activewear announces leadership changes


G ildan Activewear Inc has


announced that Glenn J. Chamandy has left his position as president and chief executive officer and director of the company.


Vince Tyra has been appointed President and CEO effective 12 February 2024. Craig A. Leavitt, a director of the Company since 2018, will serve as interim president and chief executive officer until Tyra assumes his new position.


“The Board is confident that Vince is the right person to lead the Company into the next stage of its evolution and growth. He has an extensive career as a global organization leader with experience as an apparel industry executive, an operator, an investor and transitioning founder-led companies. Vince’s diverse professional background will provide the necessary leadership skills to propel Gildan to even greater success,” said Donald C. Berg, chairman of the board.


“Over the span of his 40-year career, Glenn has been a forerunner in our industry, taking Gildan from a small family-owned business to a leading apparel company with over US$3 billion in revenues,” said Berg.
