Direct Trade + Bags increases capacity with new machinery

C

apacity has increased by approximately 6,000 units a day at Direct Trade + Bags’ Lincoln site after the addition of new machinery.

DTB has added a 10-head iQ-Oval screen printing carousel from MHM Direct GB, along with a twin-belt Adelco dryer. The dryer provides DTB with even more flexibility as the split belt is reversible, meaning the team is able to run another carousel alongside it giving another 1,000 units per day.

This new and increased capacity ultimately means DTB is better able to service its customers’ orders.

utoh Europe has unveiled the XpertJet 1682SR Pro (64in – 1.6 m) high productivity twin head sign and display printer targeted at long term outdoor/ indoor sign and display and commercial print applications. The new XPJ-1682SR Pro carries two AccuFine HD print heads, each with 3200 nozzles, a new weaving algorithm and Mutoh’s genuine VerteLith RIP software to deliver a significant improvement in both print quality and print speed. The XPJ-1682SRP is ideally suited for high productivity environments, delivering high quality production speeds up to 35sq m/hr. The new printer also integrates automatic alignments to ensure uninterrupted production and consistent quality. The printer will be launched with Mutoh’s new MS51 quick dry CMYK inkset. Mutoh

MS51 inks fulfil the requirements of today’s sign professionals with regards to indoor and outdoor signage applications, yet do not require health and safety pictograms and are also gBL free. Compared to traditional sign and display inks, they offer the same colour gamut, excellent gloss preservation and weather resistance, abrasion and chemical resistance with UV durability up to three years without lamination.

Mutoh MS51 inks are also GREENGUARD Gold certified. Certification was obtained for the category wallpaper, which means that output can be used at full room coverage, even in sensitive environments such as schools and hospitals.

The XPJ-1682SR Pro twin head printer is an addition to Mutoh’s existing XPJ-1341SRP and XPJ-1641SRP single head models released in January.

odels D-100 and D-1000, the smallest conveyor dryers produced by Vastex International, are now available with Powered Exhaust to remove excess moisture and fumes from the infrared heating chamber.

Available as an option on new units or as a retrofit kit on existing units, the exhaust hood vents from the top of the dryer for maximum flexibility in ducting to the shop’s exterior, while reducing noise significantly. Mark Vasilantone, president, said: “The powered exhaust hood pulls fumes and hot air away from the operator’s environment, making these compact dryers ideal for working in confined spaces, especially when curing direct to film adhesives.”

These entry-level dryers can cure up to 110 plastisol-printed garments/h, or 50 garments/h printed with water-based ink or discharge, as well as DTF adhesives at high rates. Variable controls for both heat intensity and conveyor speed allow fine-tuning of the drying process according to ink type, ink coverage, desired cure temperature, and rate at which items are being screen printed, or coated with DTF adhesives.
