IAAPA IAAPA IAAPA! Yes, it’s all about
IAAPA right now (in case that wasn’t already apparent). The legend that
is Rick Hunter very kindly pointed out that when I reported on my first ever IAAPA (Amsterdam, 2024) I spent the whole of the issue misspelling it as “IAPPA”. As a result, I am VERY careful to get it right (for fear of Rick cartwheeling me to death in a rage). No injuries to report as of yet! So, welcome to our IAAPA preview issue.
Apart from brimming with tons of IAAPA-related shenanigans, we have a particularly packed issue, as we enjoy contributions from more and more industry experts as time goes by. Who am I referring to? Well, let me highlight
some of the, er… highlights! Marek Pisarski – a pioneer of the Polish
theme park and attractions industry. Tom Anstey – a man so deeply entwined in
the world of roller coasters that they named a small spinning teacup ride in Margate after him – The Tommy Twister! Mark Ghermezian – the Co-Founder &
CEO of Runhappy knows a thing or two about maximising incoming enquiries (although he does call them inquiries – which really upsets my spellchecker). Susan Storey – obviously I couldn’t miss ‘our
Susan’ off the highlights! This month she gives a fitting tribute to the late great Dolly Parton. Anyway, these are just some of the great
features we have for you this month, so enjoy the issue, and enjoy IAAPA (PLEASE DON’T CARTWHEEL ME RICK!) Oh, and for legal reasons I should point out
that I made up The Tommy Twister story. Heh - gotcha!
