With major attractions trade shows coming in the second half of the year - not to mention headline events such as D23 - the global attractions industry is entering its busiest stretch. Tom Anstey gets all excited and starts packing his bags…
W
ith the likes of IAAPA Expo Europe, IAAPA Expo and D23 on their way, the global attractions industry is entering
its busiest stretch of the year.
Already, a wave of major projects have opened or been unveiled, with more to come as the industry heads into the final quarter. The annual attractions calendar traditionally builds to a crescendo around November, when announcements and openings often peak - and 2025 is shaping up to be no exception.
Netflix, which is moving beyond screens to develop its own branded visitor experiences.
The streaming giant is set to launch three Netflix House entertainment centres in Philadelphia, Dallas and Las Vegas. Each will be free to enter, with guests

paying for immersive experiences, screenings and themed dining.
Among these experiences, the Netflix Houses will feature Stranger Things, Squid Game, Bridgerton, One Piece and Knives Out Mystery attractions. In addition to its attractions, each house will also offer guests the chance to attend screenings of Netflix movies like KPop Demon Hunters. Houses also offer Netflix-themed dining and drinks, as well as photo opps with characters from popular Netflix shows. Philadelphia will open the first Netflix House, with the theme park spanning more than 100,000 sq ft. Among its attractions, a map shows a Wednesday- themed carnival, a One Piece-themed room with a pirate ship, treasure room and mini golf course. In other Netflix Houses will be different attractions. In Dallas, Stranger Things: Escape the Dark, and Squid Game: Survive the Trials feature. The Dallas site will also include retro games based on popular Netflix hits such as Floor is Lava, Love is Blind, Army
of the Dead and Big Mouth.
It's probably not a coincidence that a Netflix House is also coming to Las Vegas in 2027, right on the iconic Vegas strip. Looking at the success and such as this should do very well in such a location. could prove a strong contender across all three cities.
