Hello Autumn, and hello IAAPA! It’s bonkers to think Amsterdam was a year ago. It was my first ever IAAPA, and though not ultimately as crazy-eye-opening as the November 2024 Florida event would prove to be, it certainly got the ball rolling! Walking hall after hall of captivating products and mind-blowing innovations was certainly an exciting introduction to the sector, and one I’ll never forget. And now we’ve off again… to Barcelona this time. Hopefully you’re happy to have us tucked under your


arm as you tootle around the show, because we’ve got a great issue for you to enjoy in your down time (yeah, we all know you invent ‘meetings’ so you can sit with a coffee and read Park World). As always, Susan Storey is on hand to keep us up to date on the latest parks and rides she’s blagged her way into (I’m not bitter, just jealous!). She also breaks down the key messages from the PULSE report for us this issue, so don’t miss that pearl of collective wisdom. Tom Anstey is on hand to walk us though some of

This month I got the chance to sit down and talk with Moment Factory’s Themed Entertainment Creative Director - Alexandre Lupien - and also found time to converse with the hugely interesting theme park smell specialist and historian, Liam R. Findlay. That’s right: smell specialist! Check it out (and breathe in the scent of popcorn, cigarettes and children’s tears). We’ve loads of news from across the sector, as well as details of key updates and announcements across the industry. That’s way too many words for an Editor’s Welcome, and now I’m worried my photo will be tiny and you won’t get to enjoy my face. So… goodbye.
