Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle returns to Universal Orlando T

he darker side of magic is set to come to life this autumn in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Orlando Resort with the return of Death Eaters and the breathtaking experience ‘Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle’.

The sinister spectacle – featuring state-of-the-art projection mapping, special effects, lighting and more – brings awe-inspiring moments and creatures from the Harry Potter films to life at the majestic Hogwarts castle. As darkness falls, an ominous presence will fill the land as the Dark Arts begin to take over the streets of Hogsmeade and cloak the stone walls of Hogwarts castle.

Guests will come face-to-face with Death Eaters – devoted followers of Lord Voldemort known for their practice of the Dark Arts – as they appear and eerily roam and lurk throughout Hogsmeade.

Visitors will watch as the unspeakable creatures and sinister villains of the Wizarding World, including Dementors, mountain trolls and even the visage of Lord Voldemort, are unleashed on Hogwarts castle until a Patronus – the result of a powerful defence charm of concentrated happiness and hope – is produced.

Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle will run on select nights from September 16 through to October 31 from dusk until park close in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Heide Park Resort gets set to spook guests this Halloween

Roller coaster rides in the dark, family scares and extra horror attractions – northern Germany's largest amusement park is celebrating Halloween with families and horror fans alike from October 14 to October 31. Just in time for the beginning of the dark season, everything in Heide Park will revolve around eerily beautiful moments of horror, ensuring scare fans big and small are in the perfect place to celebrate Halloween. Creepy figures seem to be lurking around every corner – or is it just the gnarled branches of an illuminated tree? A very special atmosphere, conjured by music, lighting and eerie decorations, will surround the park during this spooky occasion.

In the magical enchanted forest, only the bravest children will be able to help the magic fairy – and for the first time this year, after a two year break due to the pandemic, the indoor mazes are open again for Heide Park Halloween. The horror maze SubTerra returns brings visitors on a dangerous trip into the depths of the resort. Guests are invited to a secret underground event – or is this a trap? Meanwhile, in Obscuria (only on October 21 and 22) and the Grand Hotel Morton, frightful figures will strike fear into those aged 16 and over. Hamburg's Boo crew are guaranteed to make even the most shock-tested guest shudder.

On all Fridays and Saturdays as well as October 31 itself, Heide Park will bring horror adventures for every taste and every age, from light frights to the truly terrifying. With luminous fountains, talking pumpkins, and a brilliant firework display planned for the final evening, the scene is set for a truly spooktacular Halloween.

Guests will also be able to purchase new Dark Arts-themed merchandise featuring the Dark Mark during their visit to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, including mugs, hats, lanyards, tees, and even a Death Eater mask.
