Lake Compounce all set for new season A

s Lake Compounce’s 177th season begins, guests can expect a variety of new additions to the park including an enhanced ride experience on Boulder Dash. g strategies from Convious are based around rewarding customers for two types of behaviour: early bird purchases and being the first to buy on a particular date.

Voted the best wooden roller coaster in the world five times, Boulder Dash is visited by guests from around the globe every single year. Reaching speeds of over 60 miles per hour, the coaster sends riders on a unique journey through the trees and up the mountainside.

This season, the park has upgraded the coaster with the goal of reclaiming its rightful spot at the top of the world’s best coasters list. The addition of 580 feet of Titan Track by Great Coasters International Inc. (GCI) to Boulder Dash will create a smoother and even faster ride.

“Since Boulder Dash was completed at Lake Compounce and opened to riders in 2000, it has been a massive draw for park-goers of all ages,” said Lake Compounce director of operations, Megan Major. “Adding Titan Track to the coaster will not only enhance the ride experience but the steel tracking will also allow for easier maintenance on the coaster, allowing our team to ensure the ride can stay open longer to guests.”

GCI’s president and owner, Clair Hain Jr,

added: “I want to thank Jerry Brick, Palace Entertainment’s director of construction and maintenance and Lake Compounce Amusement Park for selecting Great Coasters International Inc. and our all-new Titan Track product to update Boulder Dash. I want to wish Lake Compounce a successful 2023 season!”

In addition to the all-new Titan Track on Boulder Dash, the park is also upgrading its beloved food stand, Potato Patch. Foodies can

experience a new ordering process allowing for faster service and a better guest experience. The park is also adding an all-new menu item, an exclusive Potato Patch fry bucket. Filled with 64 ounces of fresh-cut fries, the new souvenir buckets are available for purchase for $19.99 this summer. Patch lovers are invited to chow down on their favourites on the all-new Potato Patio, a new seating area located right next to Potato Patch, complete with a potato photo opportunity.

Zamperla Integrated Rides bring smiles at Walibi Holland

Guests at Walibi Holland took to the open road on a pair of new Zamperla attractions. Eat My Dust (Junior Coaster 200) and Wind Seekers (Magic Bikes 6) were both part of the park’s large Speed Zone- OFF ROAD family area. The coaster vehicles look like dune buggies and feature detailed fibreglass work and paint

applications. The Magic Bikes look like an ultralight aircraft and brought a new theming style to one of Zamperla’s most successful attractions. “This project was a success in a short timeline because of the partnership. The Leisure Expert Group team came up with a fantastic thematic concept, the park made the project happen in a year, and Zamperla’s team of artists made Walibi Holland’s vision come to life. From the roll bars to the fake mud, these ride vehicles are exciting to see on a coaster of this scale,” said Charles De Bruyne, sales manager for the EU.

The Magic Bikes is set into the Junior Coaster’s first drop, making this another of Zamperla’s Integrated Ride packages.

The famed Italian company has the industry’s 18

most diverse portfolio of attractions, and this installation demonstrates how pairing them together allows parks to maximise visitor spending and increase guest satisfaction. “Integrated Rides answers the demands of today’s park-goers,” said Adam Sandy, Zamperla’s roller coaster sales and marketing director. “We see a larger age gap between children in families, a need for more immersive theming and a desire for interactivity. The Integrated Rides package at Walibi Holland answers the call of today’s family market and offers an hourly capacity of 900 people,” he continued.

Walibi Holland and the Speed Zone are open for the 2023 season.
