Space Mountain closes at Tokyo Disneyland
A beloved attraction has closed at Tokyo Disneyland as the Japanese park is giving Space Mountain a renovated image. Riders took their last ride on Space Mountain on 31 July with the updated ride set to open in 2027, known as Space Mountain Earthrise.
The roller coaster has traveled over 14 million miles since its debut back in 1983, which is the same as 29 round trips between the Earth and Moon. Oriental Land Co., who has been tasked with the renovation, is set to invest 56 billion yen in the makeover.
