Acqua Village Follonica
At Acqua Village Follonica the big news for summer 2024 is called Apo, the ring slide.
A
lost island and a hidden treasure. Apo, the ring slide, is the great novelty of Acqua Village Follonica. Like every
summer, the owners of the Cecina and Follonica water parks (both in Tuscany, Italy) invest in new attractions to improve the two facilities and meet the expectations of those who choose them to spend days of fun and relaxation. And the big surprise for summer 2024 is called
Apo, the ring slide! A unique attraction of its kind because the staff of Acqua Village studio, an in-house team that has been developing the new slide and pool concepts for the two water parks since 2023, was responsible for the design of the scenography. The slide was purchased from the company Polin (Turkey), which was supplied with the new colours designed by Acqua Village Studio. The inspiration comes, as always, from the Tiki
world: everything starts from the study of Hawaiian culture. From research we move on to conception, then to design and to the identification of the materials to be used, an aspect on which Acqua Village Studio places great importance because every detail is designed to be unique. Even the colours are chosen according to very precise
criteria. And with the team, headed by Riccardo Fara, creative director and imagineer, and Luca Serafini, director of the Follonica park and director of works, made up of graphic designers, illustrators, designers and planners, since 2024 the internationally renowned street artist, Dario Vella, has also joined in. He has created some of the set designs, including the treasure and the lost island path, using mostly recycled material. While for the warriors and the portal, Acqua Village Studio collaborated with Savanna Fantasy, a Portuguese company with Spanish management. "For Acqua Village," say the water park owners,
"these last two years represent an important step forward: in fact, since 2023, with the restyling of the wave pool at the Follonica water park (Kauai, the island of waves), the scenography of the attractions has been designed in-house by our staff. After years of experience in the sector, we are able to deal directly with the characterisation of our attractions: every detail is the result of months of study and work. This makes our proposals unique. Apo is not just a slide but holds a story. A lost island, a hidden treasure, two large tiki warriors flanking the entrance portal. "Acqua Village's goal is to constantly improve the water parks, which are located in Follonica and Cecina in Tuscany," the company concludes. "Proposing an ever broader offer, well cared for and attentive to the requests of our guests, is what pushes us each year to invest in new projects and continue to obtain nationwide recognition such as that received in 2023 from Parksmania as Water Park of the Year. And so in 2024 came Apo, the ring slide. A
lost island and a treasure to be discovered. Two 5-metre-high warriors defend the entrance portal. A one-of-a-kind slide, 18 metres high and 145
metres long, with a 12-metre diameter loop, and a final ascent and descent that will leave those who ride it breathless. And that's not all: the slide will be in the dark, to be done in single or two-seater dinghies.
The history of ACQUA VILLAGE Acqua Village was born in 1993 from a happy intuition of Marcello Padroni. In 31 years it has grown exponentially, becoming a true Hawaiian- themed water park with two locations: Acqua Village Cecina (Livorno) and Acqua Village Follonica (Grosseto). The Acqua Village water parks are located
in Tuscany. They extend over a total area of 115,000 square metres, with 40,000 square metres of green spaces, 7,000 square metres of facilities and 1,500 square metres of parking. Every year the company invests in new attractions and improvements, so that Acqua Village is now considered one of the best water parks in Italy.
