achievement, behaviour and respect for each other underpin everything we do. Beginning in Year 3 – we do not have EYFS and Key Stage 1 provision – we have 675 pupils on roll, with 78 (11.6% of our children) available for free school meals, who are happy, highly engaged and thrive from a rich and vibrant curriculum. This drives us in our pursuit for achieving excellence every day. Our teachers strive to create independent, articulate thinkers and learners who have the confidence to realise their ambitions.

How would you summarise your approach to the curriculum, in its broadest sense? We have three core aims that run throughout our curriculum. We aim for all pupils to become confident individuals who are prepared for the next stage of learning and are equipped with the skills to contribute to an ever-changing world. We want our pupils to become successful learners who enjoy learning, make rapid progress and achieve highly. In addition, we strive for our pupils to become responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to the life of our school and the wider society in which they live.
Focusing specifically on PE and sports, how important is that to the school? We believe that PE, physical activity and school sport plays a vital part of school life and our children’s future health and wellbeing. It is important that our pupils understand the importance of leading a healthy, active lifestyle to prepare them for secondary school and later

You were recently named Milton Keynes School Sports Partnership (MKSSP) Primary Sports School of the Year for 2023. How was that?
We were delighted to win the award, which is a reward for our team who put their heart and soul into giving all our amazing children lessons and extracurricular activities that are the best they can be. Our aim is to engage every child, and ensure that our delivery of PE allows all pupils to leave Two Mile Ash with the capabilities to be successful in sporting challenges and active lifestyles at secondary school and beyond. This has been boosted by strong links with local clubs and partnerships to help pupils receive opportunities to access physical activity and competition, as well as strong parental support.
What aspects of your provision did you highlight in your nomination to MKSSP? It covered aspects including achieving the School Games Mark gold award, intra and inter school fixtures and competitions, broad range of extra-curricular and extended sports clubs, dedicated girls’ football programme, inclusive approaches to engage the least active children, work enabling transition through school life via PE and sport, and commitment to staff professional
