CONTENTS Dear Reader,
Welcome to the latest issue of Education Today. As you will no doubt be aware, this month marks the return of the Bett Show to London’s ExCel – after two years away, there is understandably a good deal of excitement and interest in the show, and we will of course be there on stand NA42. We’d love to see you, so if you’re attending please make sure to stop by and say hello! To whet your appetite for the show, our
first feature this month looks at the various themes and speakers at the show. Spread across nine theatres, Bett 2022 will host more than 300 inspiring speakers, over 400 exhibitors and will feature 90 plus hours of CPD-accredited content. Visitors are expected from more than 50 different countries. Moving on, this month our feature focus
is on recruitment in the sector. In our first look at the topic, we’re delighted to hear from Emma Hollis, Executive Director of the National Association of School-Based Teacher Trainers (NASBTT), who looks at the state of Initial Teacher Training and discusses the challenges ahead, while in our second Ollie Parsons, Education Recruitment Specialist at Teacher Booker, discusses supply teacher pay rates and gives some useful pointers on working out your worth to agencies. We also have comment on the topic from Sarah John, Joint Head, UK Higher Education and Joint Managing Partner, UK at Perrett Laver, who looks at the changing landscape for recruitment in the Higher Education sector in 2022 and beyond. Remember, we love to hear from you,
you can get in touch with us via Twitter @EdTodayMag, as well as by phone or email. Enjoy the issue!
