Highlights from the UK education sector 7 VIEWS
With author Joshua Cartwright, and Patrick Hayes, Director at BESA
Dear Reader,
Welcome to the latest issue of Education Today. With the summer holidays now a distant memory, the job of teaching new intakes and preparing students for exams begins in earnest. Teaching is a practical science, and in this month’s issue we look at pedagogy, hearing from a selection of commentators who offer their thoughts on this most fundamental subject, and examining how teaching practices can be tuned to achieve the best outcomes for practitioners and pupils. Looking at innovative teaching practices in more detail, we also speak to Kate Atkins, headteacher at Rosendale Primary School, to discuss the collaborative partnership between the school and London Connected Learning Centre, and what it has achieved.
We have our regular contributors as always, and we continue our section on UK education writers, “From the pen of…”, this month with author Joshua Cartwright. We continue our section on recruitment with some great jobs for you this month, so if you’re looking for a new role, or wish to advertise a vacancy, do make sure you get in touch.
With that, it just remains for me to welcome you all back to school! Remember, you can get in touch with us via Twitter @EdTodayMag, Facebook and our homepage, as well as by phone or email. We love hearing from you!
Enjoy the issue! Jonathan Swift - Managing Editor
