14 BESA CORNER Dear Reader,
Welcome to the final issue of Education Today for 2019. With twin education trade shows Bett and The Education Show making their annual appearance in January, we preview these important events; while in our feature focus this month, we look at the importance of cultural education.
On 22-25 January 2020, the 36th edition of Bett will bring together people from more than 146 countries in the global education community under one roof at the ExCeL London. With 800 leading companies, 103 exciting new EdTech startups and over 34,000 attendees, the latest edition of Bett UK is an unmissable show in the event calendar for the global EdTech market. In our two features on cultural education this month, we look ahead to the UK’s leading children’s festival, Imagine, at the Southbank Centre – twelve days jam-packed with the highest- quality international children’s theatre, music performances, literature events, comedy shows, creativity workshops, family parties, hands-on activities and lots of free family fun for all those aged 0 – 11 and their grownups; and hear from regular Education Today contributor Felicia Jackson, Chair of the Learn2Think Foundation, who asks why cultural education is such an important factor in children’s education.
Remember, we love to hear from you, you can get in touch with us via Twitter @EdTodayMag, Facebook and our homepage, as well as by phone or email. Have a very restful Christmas break and enjoy the issue!
