Uno puede pensar que no suceden otras cosas en la región, al


darle tanto espacio de comentario a la referida MP brasileña, pero no se puede dejar de estar un poco mortificado por el desasosiego de tener la MP a punta de ser aprobada, y luego ver que otra vez mas como una mano negra política amenaza con aplastarla, otra vez.


Y como Brasil no podía quedar solo en eso de las postergaciones reguladoras para las apuestas deportivas, líneas abajo pueden leer como los legisladores en Perú también anda con dimes y diretes para volver a reglamentar las apuestas remotas, que ya fueron aprobadas por el Congreso. Mayo empezó con mucho empuje por los reportes que nos llegaron desde Las Bahamas, donde durante los días 2-4 de mayo, el CGS logró un excelente show, además del 3er Foro de Reguladores del Caribe. La misma empresa organiza el CGS Latam de Santiago, Chile, de 30-31 de mayo, y por las obligaciones de imprenta solo lograremos comentar sobre el desarrollo de este evento en la próxima edición.


La 7ª Cumbre Iberoamericana del Juego tuvo una importante


participación institucional, empresarial y gubernamental durante los días 15, 16 y 17 de mayo en Panamá, con la participación de reguladores de 12 países iberoamericanos, quienes ratificaron su compromiso, apoyo e interés por generar y fortalecer la comunicación entre todos los actores del sector. En su presentación, Manuel Sánchez, Secretario Ejecutivo de la Junta de Control de Juegos de Panamá dijo que el sector logra inyectar anualmente, más de US$100 millones a la economía de su país. ¡Felicitaciones! Este mes nos toca volver a nuestra Lima querida para el PGS, que


ya muestra récord en expositores, y después volver a ese movido Sao Paulo, donde el Brazilian iGaming Summit también romperá récords, uno se imagina en todo, porque a pesar de los políticos, se sigue haciendo apuestas y juego en las áreas grises de la ley, porque la gente simplemente gusta de apostar y jugarse unos reales en el Jogo de bicho, y en esto, también probaremos suerte entre los días 15-19 de junio. ¡Allá nos vemos!

Mincetur publicará nuevo reglamento para el juego y apuestas online


Siguiendo el resultado de la consulta pública, que se publicó el 19 de mayo, sobre Reglamento de la Ley N° 31557, la viceministra de Turismo, Madeleine Burns indicó que esta difusión permitirá dar a conocer los aportes y/o sugerencias recibidas por la ciudadanía, a fin de mejorar el texto definitivo del Reglamento de la citada Ley, comentando en ese sentido, que eso es de suma importancia, y demuestra el trabajo que viene realizando el Mincetur en la transparencia, predictibilidad, apertura y participación activa en el proceso de reglamentación de la referida ley. Como se recuerda, el primer texto del proyecto de Reglamento elaborado por el Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo fue sometido a Consulta Pública Regulatoria entre

The mind just boggles! The month of May began with a lot of momentum in the region as reports came to us from The Bahamas, where during May 2-4, CGS had an excellent show, as well as hosting the 3rd Forum of Caribbean Regulators. The same company organizes the CGS Latam in Santiago, Chile, from May 30-31, but owing to printing schedules we will only be able to comment on the development of this event in our next edition. In Panama, the 7th Cumbre Iberoamericana del Juego had an


important institutional, business and government participation, on May 15, 16 and 17, with the participation of regulators from 12 countries, who ratified their commitment, support and interest in generating and strengthening communication between industry institutions. In his presentation, Manuel Sánchez, Executive Secretary of Panama’s Gaming Control Board, said that the sector manages to inject annually more than US$100 million to the economy of his country. Congratulations! This month we are pleased to return to our beloved Lima for PGS 2023, and this event already shows record exhibitors. Following that, we go back to Sao Paulo, where the Brazilian iGaming Summit will also break records, one imagines in everything because, despite the politicians, betting and gaming still goes on albeit some of this in grey areas of the law. People simply like to bet and gamble, and I’ll have a go at street lotto, Jogo de bicho, trying our luck between June 15-19. See you all, there!

Mincetur will publish new regulations for online gambling and betting


Following the results of a public consultation on the Regulation of Law No. 31557, which was published on May 19, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Madeleine Burns indicated that an analysis of this has enabled publication of the contributions and/or suggestions received from citizens, in order to improve the final text of the Regulation to the Law. Commenting that this is of utmost importance, and shows the work that Mincetur has been doing in transparency, openness and active participation in the regulatory process of the aforementioned law. As is recalled, the first text of the Regulations draft prepared by Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) was submitted for Public Consultation between
