Duarte joins Konami K


onami Gaming has announced the appointment of Victor Duarte to senior vice president and chief product & strategy


officer, to support continued expansion of its world-class research and development. Duarte brings more than 20 years of experience in the global gaming and lottery industry, with expertise spanning multiple operational disciplines. As Konami’s senior vice president and chief product & strategy officer, he is responsible for leading the company’s games R&D, including vision, conceptualisation, strategy, and execution. “Victor Duarte has a strong track record of


strategic leadership in the areas that matter to our customers, including product reliability and performance,” said Steve Sutherland, president and chief executive officer at Konami Gaming. “His demonstrated commitment to quality and innovation is consistent with Konami’s enduring vision for the business and its role across global markets.”


Patent named CEO at VizExplorer


izExplorer has appointed David Patent as Chief Executive Officer. Patent will assume the day-to-day leadership of the company and will also join the board of directors. A veteran of the gaming industry, Patent has nearly two decades of professional experience, including C-level management and strategy roles. “I am excited and honored to help lead VizExplorer in the next chapter of its growth. VizExplorer has made impressive strides in the gaming industry, becoming an established brand with a comprehensive software platform that powers efficiency, productivity and profitability for casino operators,” said David. Ashley Healey, who lives in Crewe with his mum, dad and stepbrother, has quadriplegic cerebral palsy which means he is reliant on a wheelchair. Ashley has just started college and his old wheelchair was heavy and difficult to use. His new powered wheelchair will provide him


with greater independence, better seat support, improved posture and greater comfort. The powered wheelchair was purchased with


really exciting evening and at times it was even overwhelming. I can’t thank Genting Casino UK and CHIPS enough for providing Ashley with this powered wheelchair.

Genting Casino Westcliff begins multi-million-pound refurbishment


G


enting Casino Westcliff, located on the Western Esplanade in Southend- on-Sea, UK, has begun work on a multi-million-pound refurbishment of the casino. The refurbishment will focus on an upgrade to the new bar area, plus improvements throughout the casino. The revamp of the bar area includes a brand-new long bar


with multiple state-of-the-art flat screen TVs throughout the bar, including one 98” LED screen that will be the biggest single screen in Southend. The bar will have a gold theme and a long bar format will increase capacity and provide more service stations reducing delays at the bar. Additional private booth areas are also being installed with


mobile phone charging points. The refurbishment will see modernised toilet facilities, as well as new carpeting throughout the casino. General maintenance to the exterior of the casino is also underway, including new signage and neon lights. The refurbishment is


scheduled for completion by Friday, November 16th.
