DECEMBER 2018 3 Editor’s comment C

hristmas is coming, the geese are getting fat… Unless you got your issue

of Casino International after Christmas, in which case Christmas has been and gone, as has the goose. I was recently in a supermarket in a large English

town, packed to the gills with shoppers picking up tat for Christmas. Nobody was smiling. I did my best by smiling at everyone, but when you’re the only person doing it, you can look something of a lunatic. I thought Christmas was about peace, love and happiness – not buying crap, glaring at strangers and getting bladdered. Shows what I know, eh? 2019 is on the doorstep and promises even more political upheaval and insanity than we have already had; if anyone has even the faintest clue what the year ahead holds, please email me some hints. The world has gone mad. Merry Christmas! Enjoy the issue.
