Panelco

BKU’s Matt Broughton spoke with Julie Dean, Head of Marketing for Panelco.

024 is without doubt the busiest year Panelco has experienced, with new product introductions and updates to product ranges. With the introduction of five major launches before September alone it has certainly created a huge buzz in the market. Panelco believes in striving to offer the most up to date and innovative products to its customers to ensure it always has something different to present to customers.

“In February we hosted our fourth promotional event at Stoke to promote the latest Egger EDC 24+ collection,” explains Head of Group Marketing, Julie Dean. “We displayed the latest worktop range with twenty contemporary designs across 38mm postformed, square edge and 25mm options. We also hosted our first event - which was met with positivity and interest - at the new Design Studio in Tilbury. It’s a new venture for Panelco which we plan to continue.” Additions to the company’s Greenlam collection came next: “Already with huge success in the compact range, it increased the portfolio with matching HPL laminate available in two sizes, an updated cubicle and Washroom collection of compact laminate with two sizes in 12mm, a door range of HPL and a locker collection comprising of a range of 10mm compact laminate.” “Polyrey was introduced in April,” explains Julie, “which included multiple laminate ranges to enhance and strengthen our decorative surface

portfolio. The latest Galerie collection of HPL, a range of laminates specific for the cubicle and washroom market, hand-selected with a matching compact laminate. A door range of laminates finished the selection, which has really helped to put Panelco on the global laminate distribution map.”

The next natural step was the introduction of the Omega worktop collection from Bushboard, a contemporary offer with a choice of profiles and thickness, with a sleek 22mm Luxe range to make this a perfect interior kitchen solution. Julie explains: “Alloy splashbacks are the ideal addition to pair alongside the Omega surfaces, the statement splashbacks are a simple and effective way to enhance your kitchen space both aesthetically and safely. Panelco now offers five variants of work surfaces and accessories, putting us firmly on the worksurface and interior map!” I ask Julie what she thinks are the key attributes products need to have to succeed when it comes to worksurfaces and splashbacks? “Depth of ranges,” she replies. “Offering four specific worksurface collections with an independent splashback offer creates choice, variety and cost- effective options with no compromise on style and quality. Customers need not only choice but also added benefits such as variety of sizes and profiles, differing textures and matching accessories to make schemes simple to manage and design. Specific guarantees offered in selective ranges allows peace of mind for installation. Sleek

thinner tops are still popular for modern contemporary interiors, and we offer a variety of thin laminate tops plus a compact choice for realistic reproduction looks.”

What trends will we see reflected in Panelco’s range? “We have certainly looked to increase our strengths in the surface market this year,” says Julie. “By partnering with Polyrey and Wilsonart we are in prime position to offer a considered and extensive laminate and worktop portfolio. Kitchen trends are leaning towards more earthy tones and pops of colour, and customers are becoming confident in their decisions, with rich, bold red, pink and gold tones. Woods are always dominant in the KBB market and 2024 is no exception; paired back lighter woods are still popular for a natural lived in style, but now darker tones are entering schemes to create rich pockets of colour with depth and elegance. Work surfaces are very much a focal point in the kitchen area, and offering four very different ranges all with varying styles allows versatility for our customers.”

And as for the rest of the year… “Panelco never stands still for long!” says Julie. “We believe that innovation is key to our success; we always strive to present innovative designs and ranges that fit seamlessly into our profiles. With further extensions planned for this year plus additions to our portfolios for the early part of 2025, you can be sure that you will always find Panelco at the heart of innovation.”
