CDUK – Kitchen trends to look forward to A

s summer draws to and end, material and complementary product supplier

CDUK looks ahead to the trends that will influence the kitchen industry next year.

Kitchens with curve appeal The kitchen is often referred to as the heart of the home; a place where families and friends come together to share moments of conviviality and create memories to last a lifetime. For years, kitchens have been dominated by linear sharp lines, but curves are back in the picture with rounded

tables, kitchen islands and joinery. These promote sociability by creating openness of space and tactility. Corian® Solid Surface is thermoformable, so designers can craft intricate and tactile designs with elegant seamless curves that would be hard to achieve with natural stone without incurring unnecessary waste

Bold details Landscape-inspired palettes continue to be on the rise in the kitchen, but with a twist. Bold details, like a colourful tap or door handle, immediately add a touch of fun to the kitchen reflecting the owners personality into the home interiors. Take the Henry Holt collection of taps by The 1810 Company. Inspired by the industrial era style, it is available in seven finishes, including Chrome, Brushed Steel, Copper, and Matte Black, and supplied with colour-matched or fire-engine-red handles for a unique pop of colour.

3D Surfaces Three-dimensional shapes first appeared in our kitchen in the shape of fluted joinery, creating a stark contrast with sleek splashback. But what stops us from doing the opposite? M|R Walls, designed by Californian designer Mario Romano, can make any splashback stand out with its intricate patterns. Crafted from Corian® Solid Surface, these multidimensional wall surfaces add texture and movement within a space, while the interplay of light animates the walls with moments of intensity as the patterning is highlighted.

Black everything Last year, we witnessed the grand return of black in our kitchens and it is now official – the “queen

of colour” is here to stay. There are endless reasons why black is a good choice for the kitchen; eye-catching yet elegant, it’s a timeless choice for kitchens. Pair that with a long-lasting and repurposable solution to create a kitchen that is durable and kinder to the planet. Both Corian® Solid Surface and PaperStone® can be repurposed at the end of their life cycle to ensure circularity in the kitchen industry, and they can even be used for cabinet doors for the ultimate total black look.
