BiKBBI Awards – a piece of the puzzle to solve skills shortage for KBB installation
A
s I write this piece, it’s the height of ‘Awards Season’ here at BiKBBI HQ with the whole team playing their role in promoting the BiKBBI Awards 2025 to installers, installation businesses, retailers, manufacturers and beyond. And the message coming out of the institute is clear; recognition and reward is critical to building a sustainable future workforce for KBB installation – which is why everyone needs to get involved.
The BiKBBI Awards has always been billed as the only installation-focused awards programme, which remains true, but the success and impact the initiative has on the sector requires the support of the whole KBB industry.
Think about how important installation is to your business. Whether you are a manufacturer, distributor, design studio, retailer or any other business operating in the sector, your business will be reliant on the installation workforce at some point in the business cycle. It’s better for your business, your employees, your customers and the wider industry, if your business is served by an installation community with the highest levels of competence, standards and compliance – and that’s why an awards programme specifically for KBB installation, the BiKBBI Awards, is as important for you as it is for them.
The BiKBBI Awards programme, in conjunction with an effective, accessible pathway into the industry, an established CPD programme and a cohesive approach to communication between the installer community and the wider KBB sector, are all vital pieces of the jigsaw puzzle to create a sustainable workforce for the future.
As the nomination and entry window draws to a close in the coming days, and our panel of independent expert judges set about scoring the submissions, here at BiKBBI we will turn our attention to the Awards Gala Dinner in February 2025, planning an evening to remember for all of the individuals and businesses involved – the entrants, the finalists and, of course, the winners on the night. But also, the sponsors and supporters – those that embrace the opportunity to recognise and reward this vital sector of our great industry. So here is my challenge to you…
If you have a network of installers, tell them about the BiKBBI Awards and encourage them to enter. If there is an installer in your network that deserves recognition, nominate them. If you believe the work you do with your installer network is award-worthy, tell us about it. Information on all categories and how to enter can be found at
www.entertoday.co.uk. Entries close later this month.
And if you are interested in supporting the BiKBBI Awards with sponsorship, please email
comms@bikbbi.org.uk or call 01375 213 199, option 6.
