INDUSTRY VIEWS The loss of a great man
Unfortunately, this month, our world here at Trojan has been dominated by the death of our founder, Maurice Mosley, who died peacefully at home at the great age of 92 years old. Our entrepreneurial founder - and my Dad - launched Trojan in 1975 in the belief that he could ‘do it better’ than those that were already out there. My brother, Adam, and I feel privileged to have worked with dad and he will be missed immeasurably. As a family business we are driven by values that reflect our shared beliefs and experiences and as current Managing Director of Trojan Baths, I find myself continually asking myself, what would Dad say or do? He launched the company, but we have continued to grow and expand into new markets and sectors, while remaining fiercely loyal to our customers and suppliers. We will be forever thankful to Maurice for the foundations he has laid as we continue to manufacture in his beloved Yorkshire!

Make your sustainability promises count, our planet depends on it
Blink and you may have missed it, but it was Earth Day on 22 April, a very valid and important campaign that goes far beyond 24 hours. We’re all seeing and feeling the effects of climate change and the net zero targets set by governments around the world can’t come soon enough. But it can be difficult
to know where to begin to help, but even just by making some relative small changes, as an industry we’ll be starting to make a big difference. Going paperless, or at least reducing the amount we use is a good example. Printed brochures don’t just mean cutting down trees of course, there’s all the ink to think about and the logistics of getting them from A to B. When you weigh it up, a virtual alternative certainly sounds more sustainable.

Goodbye chrome, hello colour!
“Chrome towel rails have been at the forefront of the bathroom market for many years, but the go-to metallic finish is taking a back seat as homeowners embrace an injection of colour. We’re already seeing blue predominating as an accent as consumers want to bring the mood-enhancing hue into their bathrooms. However, warm metallic finishes are also proving a must-have for designers and consumers looking to add a fashion-forward finish. Choosing towel rails, or even valves, in brass and copper finishes is a simple yet effective way to embrace splashes of metallic finishes and add industrial style to bathrooms. Alternatively, textured finishes are equally popular with homeowners as a way to put their own individual stamp on a bathroom scheme and turn a practical product into an eye-catching feature.”
