INTERVIEW WITH MYLIFE BATHROOMS Q&A
Matt: Can you give us some details on the Altea Hexalyte Slate Shower Trays, and explain how the Hexalyte technology makes such a difference? Cahal: Our newly re-engineered Altea trays now feature Hexalyte technology, a glass-fibre reinforced composite formed into a precise hexagonal structure beneath the tray. This innovation makes the Altea Hexalyte up to 38% lighter than the average slate tray while still delivering exceptional strength and durability. The reinforced material resists cracking, warping, and distortion, and the tray is backed by MyLife’s lifetime guarantee.
The Altea surface includes hydro-reflective properties that guide water directly towards the waste, and it carries a Class C anti-slip rating, the highest available barefoot slip-resistance standard, an increasingly important feature for homeowners and specifiers.
For added flexibility, the rectangular trays can be cut to fit by up to 75mm along one edge, making them ideal for smaller or awkward bathroom layouts where precision matters.
Matt: Will we see more products utilising this tech? Cahal: Yes, you’ll find Hexalyte technology in our range of Exin Slimline Shower Trays under our trade-focused brand, MyStyle. Our Exin trays feature a smooth gloss surface for effortless cleaning, a robust construction designed for long- term durability and a new lightweight offering that simplifies installation and transport of the product.
Matt: Can you talk a little about MyLife’s sustainability efforts? Cahal: Sustainability is a big focus for us. We’re continually reviewing our packaging and have
reduced plastics wherever possible, moving instead to recyclable materials. All our brochures are carbon balanced and printed on FSC certified paper. In our new building, we’re also incorporating solar panels, fully electric forklifts, and a dedicated recycling area. Across our product ranges, we’re increasing the use of eco friendly, low impact materials. Our bathroom furniture is made using responsibly sourced timber, all our mirrors use energy efficient LED lighting, and our WCs and cisterns include dual flush systems to help reduce water consumption. These are just a few examples of the sustainability efforts we’re building into our products.
Matt: What else should we be excited about from MyLife this year? Cahal: We have an exciting year ahead. Early in 2026, we’ll be launching our new customer portal, designed to make accessing orders and account
information even easier. We’re also opening our new 105,000 sq ft purpose built warehouse and office facility in Newry, which will help us meet growing demand, create new jobs, and enhance our customer experience.
The new building will also include a dedicated showroom, allowing us to showcase our products in a more immersive and engaging way. And on top of all that, we’re already working toward our next product launch.
Matt: Anything else you’d like to mention? Cahal: Just that we’re really looking forward to another busy year ahead - from our new HQ to more product launches and an improved service offering. If any of your readers are interested in becoming a MyLife retailer, we’d love to hear from them. They can easily express their interest by filling out the ‘become a retailer’ form on our website.
