2016 was an interesting year within the bathroom industry

e have seen new trends emerge and stalwarts remain. The latest trend within the bathroom seems to lean toward colour once again. We saw this trend strongly emerge 3-4 years ago with black bathroom accessories and quickly disappear.

It will be interesting to see if the current resurgence has ‘legs’ so to speak. What I think is a more interesting development is the trend toward different metallic finishes, in particular satin stainless steel finishes, and a resurgence of copper. This I believe is following a popularity in rose gold within interiors and personal accessories alike. One could also liken this to the fact that traditional rails and taps are also once more popular. The next twelve months will be very interesting I feel. Trends are as always interesting. What remains though within this industry, I feel even more than most other interior design
industries, is the classic: the white bathroom suite, the chromed/stainless steel bathroom accessory and good solid design, be that the more traditional or the modern classic. The Bathroom is a long term investment for most and always will be, but the trends as always keep us on our toes!
