SUSTAINABILITY
Boiling water taps: a safe and sustainable choice for kitchens
Comment by Stephen Johnson Managing Director, Quooker UK
ver the last few years, there has been a significant shift in customers’ needs and priorities. Climate change has played a big part in this, as people are quite rightly increasingly concerned with where their products come from and how they directly impact the environment. Across the kitchen and bathroom industry and beyond, companies have had to rethink and adapt their product offerings or services to meet this shift; boiling water taps are no different. In addition to the hot, cold and boiling water functions, manufacturers are turning their attention to new water modes. Offering filtered, chilled and sparkling water from the same tap at the touch of a button is one of the ways in which brands are tackling the issue of sustainability through product development.
O
Safety around boiling water taps is also an ever-present concern for consumers. Boiling water taps on the market boast sophisticated state-of-the-art, child-safe handle systems that will never automatically dispense boiling water. In fact, boiling water is safely dispensed following a quick and deliberate motion and, for many models, while in use, the user is alerted with the glow of a light around the handle base. As the tap is fitted into your worksurface, out of reach of children, unlike a kettle, there is no risk of tipping over and dangerously scalding the user. The double-insulated casing also prevents heat from escaping, and ensures the tap is not hot to touch when in use, unlike a kettle, which presents a far higher burn risk.
Quooker – The most used kitchen appliance A
s the original and only true 100-degree boiling water tap brand on the market, Quooker leads the way when it comes to innovative technology and design. Founded in 1970, Henri Peteri’s innovative concept of a boiling water tap has grown into a kitchen essential for millions of households worldwide, but how have boiling water taps revolutionised the kitchen? We live in a world where people want things delivered at speed. As a generation, we are inherently less patient than we used to be, increasingly unwilling to wait or compromise. On average, we spend four months of our lives waiting for the kettle to boil. Not so with a boiling water tap, which delivers the exact amount of boiling water needed instantly. Once installed, users will find Quooker taps quickly become one of the most used appliances in the whole kitchen. For hot, cold and sparkling drinks, cooking and cleaning, the Quooker will be used multiple times per day, giving more efficient and effective returns in terms of energy usage and water conservation.
With unparalleled functionality, intuitive and seamless water mode transitions, Quooker delivers the tap that truly does it all.
