Keeping safe is most important By Alan Dodds, Managing Director at Roca UK
This is an extremely worrying time for people and we hope everyone can stay safe and well during this period. The health and wellbeing of our staff, customers and suppliers is of utmost importance to us and, as a business, we have put plans in place to ensure people are protected whilst still operating a high level of service. Our sales team are now all off the
road to avoid any risk to them and our customers, but are using phone, email and skype to ensure they are still available to help and support. We are carrying a good level of stock and we are looking to
increase this further so our customers can feel assured that their orders will be met. Our customer service team is still on hand to support with order enquiries and requests and our warehouse teams are working in the safest environment possible to ensure we can deliver products efficiently. In the short term, this is going to be a tough time for businesses as
the global economy slows but in the long term the demand for bathrooms will recover as the economy does. We are all looking forward to easier times ahead but for now keeping everyone safe is the most important thing we can do.

through Coronavirus Crisis Alex Ainge, MD of Compusoft GB.
“Everyone is facing a very difficult and uncertain time and we want to be able to support our customers through this crisis. We hope the Remote Working Package and the online training resources will provide some support to our retailers.” Alex Ainge, MD of Compusoft GB. Compusoft will also provide free
webinars for its customers on specific advanced training topics that will help them master new skills, such as creating 360 images and virtual online showrooms. This will help retailers to better present their designs online and continue to communicate with customers online in the best way possible. In addition, the company has moved its classroom-based training to
online training sessions, so that all planned training can continue for customers. Tips and advice articles on how to maintain sales whilst working
remotely are also being sent to all customers to provide some helpful tips on what to do to keep their customer communication going through digital platforms. Compusoft are also offering a free Remote Working Package to
Blanco are here to assist you Comment from John Robinson, Blanco
There is no point beating around the bush, this is going to be a very tough period and considered purchases like kitchens and bathrooms will continue to be impacted. There is light at the end of the tunnel, however. The economy will recover, driven by brands like ourselves maintaining services as best we can, by supporting customers and the industry, through these difficult times.
We are working hard to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff whilst maintaining business continuity as best we can. Most of the business is working from home and the distribution centre has very strict hygiene and distancing rules in place. Our Regional Sales Team and internal departments are all available to contact through the usual routes.
BLANCO has always operated a ¹direct to customer¹ strategy, meaning we have strong relationships with our customers, large and small. We are a rock-solid business; part of a successful global group with excellent supply chain infrastructures, our own UK warehouse and distribution team. Last year we went to great lengths to prepare for a possible hard-Brexit, increasing stock levels in separate a facility. These have remained in place and will now be a COVID-19 contingency for our customers instead.
We are open and here to help - business or marketing advice, training, information or orders. If we can assist, we will. Stay safe!

Coronavirus comment Comment from Ben Bryden, Sales and Marketing Director at RAK Ceramics UK
While these are undoubtedly challenging times for everybody and it can be difficult even to know how to support your customers, it is important to remember that people are still buying and that as they are spending a lot of time at home, DIY and home improvements are now actually front of mind. Consumers may not be able to physically visit a showroom at the
moment but they are making online purchases. Installers are unlikely to be able to visit customer’s homes and usual services will likely seem expensive during what is a financially tricky time, so retailers will be looking at products that can give them the most margin and that have a consistent source of supply. Tiles are a good example, with a whole host of online how-to videos for consumers to tap into, enabling them to update their bathroom or kitchen while still supporting their independent retailer through this crisis.
