LABELEXPO EUROPE 2025 EXPANDS FOCUS WITH
LARGEST EXHIBITION IN FOUR DECADES
Labelexpo Europe, the leading global event for the label and package printing industry, is set to make history with its 2025 edition. Labelexpo Europe 2025 will be the biggest show to date, encompassing the full range of package printing and converting technology for labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons. From 16 – 19 September, the show will take place at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, marking a significant evolution in the event’s 40-year journey. The move to Barcelona represents more than just a change of location: it signals the show’s expansion and adjustment to the evolving needs of the label and package printing industry. The new venue offers enhanced space and facilities to accommodate the growing exhibition, which has already expanded 15 percent compared to the 2023 edition.
A SHOW IN EXPANSION Labelexpo Europe 2025 is shaping up to be the largest in the event’s history, with more than 650 industry suppliers expected on the show floor: 15 percent of these exhibitors will be participating for the first time. The 2025 edition marks a significant evolution by
enhancing the presence of folding cartons alongside labels and flexible packaging. This expansion responds to the convergence of inline and digital technologies in the industry, reflecting how Labelexpo continues to adapt to new package printing technologies. The expanded focus on folding cartons is supported by visitor data showing that over 25 percent of attendees at the 2023 event registered an interest in folding carton technology, while 40 percent expressed interest in flexible packaging.
In terms of growth, the previous edition in 2023 attracted 37k visitors from 138 countries, and organizers expect the 2025 show to exceed these numbers. The choice of venue has aligned to accommodate such expansion. Fira Gran Via Barcelona is one of Europe’s largest and most modern exhibition centers, featuring eight interconnected halls spanning over 240,000 square meters, allowing the show to welcome more exhibitors and visitors than ever before. Labelexpo Europe 2025 is already shaping up to be
an exciting event for folding cartons. Edale, now owned by Canon, has confirmed it will bring its FL5 Carton Production Line to the show. Actega will demonstrate its barrier coating technology, Tec-ni-Fold launches an inline creasing module and Rotatek shows a print station from its Universal 850 rotary offset press specificed for folding cartons. There are also a wide range of existing exhibitors like Omet who also supply to the folding carton market. Labelexpo Europe 2025 will be a ‘soft launch’ for folding cartons. By 2027 we expect folding cartons to be fully integrated into the show.
INNOVATION, SUSTAINABILITY AND EDUCATION Labelexpo Europe 2025 will bring features focusing on sustainability, innovation and education. A dedicated innovation feature will highlight the industry’s current trends and tech solutions, in addition to shining a spotlight on the PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) and its implications.
