New hardware for KGK Genix
KGK Genix has installed a new swissQprint Kudu flatbed printer as part of a major expansion programme.
Managing director, Graham Pitts, immediately bought the hardware after he was given a hands-on demonstration of its capabilities at swissQprint’s headquarters in Bracknell. The purchase marks the company’s first move
away from its long-term standing machine supplier, with the Kudu being opted for its competitive edge for branding and retail client work. Production director, David Pitts, said: “We needed
a new machine to elevate our offering, and the Kudu has delivered on all fronts with its speed, flexibility, and sustainability credentials. “It’s potentially the best machine we’ve ever had and hopefully signals the start of an exciting new relationship with swissQprint.” The new printer combines advanced flatbed printing capabilities with roll-to-roll functionality. Equipped with eight channels, it accommodates
CMYK, white, varnish, and neon inks and has two spare channels that offer the potential for future upgrades.
CMYUK tops in Canon sales in Europe
CMYUK has been named the top European partner for Canon Colorado M-series sales in 2024, marking an outstanding year of growth and market dominance. Outperforming all other European partners, CMYUK
saw a 25% increase from 2023, in units sold and installed during 2024.
Since introducing the Colorado M-series to its equipment portfolio, sales for this technology have increased year on year; outperforming expectations. Andrew Day, channel manager of large format graphics at Canon UK and Ireland, said: “CMYUK’s strategic approach to sales, marketing, and customer service has certainly played a part in its success alongside its deep investment in technical expertise and demonstration facilities.” Sue Hayward, CMYUK commercial director, said:

Canon appoints new president for EMEA regions
Canon has appointed a new president and CEO for its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Shinichi ‘Sam’ Yoshida has joined the print and imaging provider succeeding Yuichi Ishizuka. Mr Yoshida was previously based in the USA as the executive vice president and general manager of the marketing strategy unit and chairman and CEO of Canon Solutions America. Inktec DTF printer wins award
InkTec’s 60cm DTF printer has been recognised as outstanding for its performance and innovation at an award ceremony.

Roland brings new look to hospital
Roland DG has produced more than 2,000m of wall graphics as part of a redecoration project at a hospital in Barcelona. In partnership with the creative agency
Chispum, the company was tasked with transforming the spaces in the Hospital de Sant Pau to make them more child-friendly. The designs were printed using the TrueVIS AP-640 and featured educational and playful journeys through the human body. They were also enriched with artificial intelligence elements to captivate young patients while providing valuable educational insights and uplifting the hospital experience for its 55,000 annual visitors. Dr Susana Boronat, head of paediatrics at Hospital de Sant Pau, said: “The vibrant artwork has redefined our paediatric and neonatology units, turning them into spaces of comfort and imagination. “We are grateful to Roland DG for their
innovative approach, which aligns perfectly with our mission to humanise healthcare and ensure our young patients feel at ease during their time here.”
