RINGING IN THE NEW
Yes, it’s December and a new year and new beginnings beckon. Here at Image Reports we’re delighted to be looking forward to 2024 under new ownership. We’re now part of Datateam Business Media, which took over SDUK in the summer and which will run the next iteration of the event alongside its Printwear and Promotion Live! exhibition at the NEC in February. As you can imagine, there are exciting plans - more of that later. Meantime, there’s plenty in this issue to get you thinking about ringing the changes.
Let’s look at investment. Where are you spending and why? That was a key topic at our annual Widthwise discussions recently, where PSPs and kit manufacturers ruminated on this and other key issues affecting the wide-format digital inkjet print sector - turn to p8 to find out what our panellists had to say.
If anticipating technological development is a focus for you then go to the ‘What to Watch’ feature starting on p16 where you’ll find a broad swathe of vendors answering the question ‘What will most impact large-format in 2024 and beyond?’ in readiness for a blockbuster tradeshow year. On p14 you’ll also be able to see what new technologies we found worthy of our Angel Awards this year - let me know if you’ve bought any of them and whether they’re delivering on their promise.
Of course, cap-ex isn’t the be all and end all of running a successful business, and in this issue we also look at the value of management coaching with Colin Sinclair McDermott, our Talking Point interviewee. And we continue our environmental series with a look at the newly formed Self-Adhesive Industry Sustainability Action Group. Will the industry pay heed to its reasoning, objectives and actions? So much to think about as the year turns…here’s wishing you some fun downtime over the festivities before it’s back to business.
