High temperatures in low-carbon heating plans


Said to offer a complete low carbon solution for commercial applications, the CZ-HT high-temperature air-to- water inverter heat pump from DAIKIN is designed to achieve water heating temperatures of up to 70°C in all weather conditions. It also operates effectively in high delta T scenarios, making it suitable for a variety of heating applications. To comply with future F-Gas


regulations, it uses R-454C refrigerant, which has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 148. Available in nine sizes ranging from 19-70kW, it allows for flexible and cost-efficient installations. Each unit is equipped with Daikin’s inverter scroll compressors and Daikin- designed electronically commutated (EC) fans for optimal performance.


SOLAR INVERTER


Maximising energy yield in challenging conditions


Targeting small-to- medium utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) installations, SOLAR EDGE TECHNOLOGIES has launched the SolarEdge TerraMax Inverter in the UK. This inverter is suitable for various site conditions, including ground- mounted installations on sloped or irregular terrains, as well as dual-use applications like floating PV and agrivoltaics. It utilises advanced Module Level Power Electronics (MLPE) to enhance energy yields

by addressing module mismatch and shading issues, particularly in bi- facial modules. Key features include


99% inverter efficiency, the ability for 200% DC-oversizing, and an integrated night-time PID rectifier. The design supports longer string lengths of up to 80 modules, which could potentially reduce cabling needs and balance of


system (BoS) costs by up to 50%. Additionally, the system offers high- precision module-level monitoring and PV fleet management, contributing to lower operational and maintenance costs. The SE330K model


is now available for pre- order, with shipments expected to begin in

Daikin’s Cliff Jones says: “The new CZ-HT complements our large Applied heat pump portfolio and is a real game changer to provide further decarbonisation solutions. With the ability to reliably generate hot water up to 70°C, it can be used as a direct replacement for boilers or in hybrid mode. It can also be supplied with an on-board pump, simplifying the installation and requiring less space in

MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC has entered the UK refrigeration market with the ECOV R744 Series of condensing units, which offer low noise levels, long pipe runs, a small footprint, and a wide evaporating temperature range between -45°C and -5°C, meaning units can be used for chilling or freezing. The refrigeration units utilise non-flammable CO₂ refrigerant (R744), with a low global warming potential (GWP) of only 1. Two versions of the larger model are


available (ECOV-X37VA and ECOV- X55VA) which offer duties ranging from1.98 to 16.7kW at an ambient temperature of 35°C. A smaller unit (ECOV-X15VA) delivers duties from 0.65kW to 4.243kW at an ambient temperature of 35°C. All ECOV units can be connected to


multiple refrigerated display cabinets or cold rooms evaporators, making them a suitable choice for smaller retail shops, convenience stores and cold storage rooms in pubs, cafes, and restaurants, along with cold chain distribution centres.


The ECOV-X37 and X55 units are equipped with an inverter driven scroll compressor, multi-flow condenser and a DC inverter fan to improve energy saving performance and deliver an SEPR (Seasonal Efficiency Performance Ratio) of 2.6. Direct Modbus connectivity allows the


units to easily communicate with various monitoring systems, and a heat recovery port enables rejected heat to be used for minimal space heating and sanitary hot water demand through the addition of a
