Why temperature control is the first step to humidity control


When people talk about environmental control in buildings, heating, cooling and humidity are often treated as separate conversations. In reality, they are all closely connected, says John Barker.

Others rely on dehumidification to prevent condensation, corrosion or mould growth. There is no single answer because no two buildings operate in exactly the same way.


ne of the biggest changes we’ve seen over recent years is the impact that increasingly warm and


unpredictable weather is having on commercial and industrial buildings. As outside temperatures become more extreme, maintaining the right internal environment becomes more challenging, and that’s not simply a comfort issue. remind customers that you can’t effectively control humidity without first controlling temperature. Temperature has a direct influence


on how much moisture air can hold. Diff erent requirements Every building presents its own challenges. A food manufacturer has very different environmental requirements to a warehouse, pharmaceutical facility or printing operation. Heat gains, ventilation rates, occupancy levels and production processes all influence the best solution. Our role isn’t simply to supply equipment.
