High capacity energy storage for grid resilience
MegaMAX is a new line of high-capacity battery energy storage systems (BESS) from ALLYE ENERGY. Comprising two models, MAX1000 and MAX1500, they are designed to address the need for grid balancing and infrastructure resilience. These systems deliver up to 1.5MWh of dispatchable energy and instantaneous grid support. Both MegaMAX
models use the same physical structure but offer different capacities. The MAX1000 provides up to 1 MWh of storage with 840 kilowatts of power, while the MAX1500 increases these figures to 1.5 MWh and 1.25 megawatts. Each unit incorporates three MAX300 modules and includes a liquid-cooled thermal management system to

integrate advanced AI- driven control systems that enable real-time decision-making and responsive frequency regulation. By acting as grid shock absorbers, they can instantaneously inject or absorb energy to maintain the 50Hz frequency balance that is fundamental to grid stability. Each MegaMAX unit is
a self-contained, modular ‘drop and go’ solution
that can be deployed in under two minutes, circumventing the delays often associated with grid upgrades. With 50 to 80% of electrification projects facing severe power constraints, MegaMAX provides an immediate path forward for critical infrastructure, from electric vehicle (EV) charging to ports and industrial electrification. The MegaMAX range functions equally well in stationary grid-tied and
off-grid applications. ■

The new generation of its TPE3 inline pumps from GRUNDFOS extends the available motor capacities up to 22kW, building on previous models that were limited to 2.2kW. These pumps are fitted with integrated frequency converters and sensors for differential pressure and temperature. All models use regulated MGE motors that achieve IE5 energy efficiency, and the new design introduces improved hydraulics and a simplified product range, making selection and commissioning more straightforward. Soon, Grundfos will also be offering
the TPE 1000 and 2000 series with motors up to 90kW instead of the previous 55kW. This means the TPE range will cover motor performance from 0.25 to 90kW with IE5 energy efficiency. The pumps can communicate with
the Grundfos GO app in real time via the integrated Bluetooth LE interface. This enables easy, dialog-guided commissioning and convenient access to settings, real-time data and intelligent functions such as AutoAdapt, FlowAdapt or flow limitation.
The app functions also include
activating and configuring interfaces. The new TPE3 models have a softCIM for Modbus RTU board which can be unlocked via app. In future, BACnet will also be available in this way. In addition, the TPE3 still has physical slots for CIM modules for other protocols. The pump is equipped with an Ethernet IP interface for connection to cloud solutions such as

OIL-FREE COMPRESSOR
Smaller footprint compressor design aims for efficiency and flexibility
COMPAIR has enhanced its Ultima range, its best-in- class oil-free compressor, with the launch of a new 55 to 110kW range and a footprint that is up to 50% smaller than other oil-free compressors. The new range incorporates a new drive concept, said to deliver best in class flow and efficiency. Noise levels are as low as 69 dB(A), making Ultima one of the quietest oil-free compressors available today. The updated Ultima
model features a footprint of less than 2m2, making it significantly more compact than previous versions and similar systems. It supports working pressures up to 10 bar and delivers flow rates of up to 20m3 per minute. The compressor uses two oil-free compression

stages driven by high-speed permanent magnetic motors, eliminating the need for a traditional gearbox. These motors meet IE5 efficiency standards, and the overall drive system holds an IES2 efficiency rating. The design includes a
water-cooled, closed- loop system for improved thermal performance and reduced maintenance.
Optional heat recovery allows capture of up to 90% of the heat generated. Additional features include upgradeable power capacity, integrated digital control, and connectivity via CompAir’s iConn platform. The unit is compatible with multi- compressor control systems and is available with extended service and
warranty coverage. ■

The new range of airH₂O air-to-water heat pumps from HITACHI offers high efficiency, reliable comfort and enhanced safety. Comprising two models – the airH₂O 800, which uses the R290 refrigerant, and the airH₂O 600, which uses R32 – the units are available in monobloc, hydrosplit and refrigerant split configurations, suitable for both new residential buildings and refurbishment projects. The units have been designed
with acoustic performance in mind, featuring noise-reducing components and a silent mode. For example, the 8.5kW version of the airH₂O 600 operates at 41 dB(A) at one metre. Safety features include a sealed refrigerant circuit, integrated alarms,
and remote commissioning capabilities via smartphone. Both models support remote monitoring and control through a dedicated app. The airH₂O range also includes
smart features such as NFC for quick setup, remote control capability, and the CSNET Home app for easy system management. An optional black colour LCD controller, recognised with a European design award, adds to the user-friendly experience. They are capable of delivering high
heating and domestic hot water output, even in low outdoor temperatures, with performance maintained by technologies that stabilise water
temperature and capacity. ■
