NEW WATER SOURCE HEAT PUMP DELIVERS HOT WATER TO 105˚C
New from Trane Technologies is the RTWF HT (High Temperature) water-to-water heat pump. Built on the company’s proven XStream platform, this delivers hot water temperatures up to 105°C and heating capacities up to 1,500 kW. The RTWF HT is tailored for medium to high
temperature applications, providing industries with a path to transition away from fossil fuel-based systems to more efficient and sustainable operations. It features an A1- classified refrigerant, R1233zd(E), with almost zero Global Warming Potential (GWP), the proven Trane screw compressor, and Symbio 800 controller; and combines high efficiency, safety and robust performance. Six standard models are available to meet a wide range of industrial hot water applications. According to the company, transitioning to heat
pump technology enables customers to achieve significant operational cost savings, improve energy efficiency, and reduce carbon footprint. With a 5.0 coefficient of performance (COP) level, the Trane RTWF HT is an ideal solution to decarbonise industrial processes that have traditionally relied on energy-intensive fossil fuel boilers. By offering a viable alternative to these carbon intensive systems, it also helps companies reduce their scope 1 and 2 emissions. The RTWF HT is suitable for:
• District heating and other utility or energy company heating schemes
WATER-TO-WATER HEAT PUMPS SUIT CITY DECARBONISATION
A new water-to-water heat pump designed to meet the challenges of decarbonising cities has been launched by Swedish manufacturer, Qvantum, for the UK market. The compact QG pump is said to be a solution for developers working with 5th generation ambient heat networks and shared boreholes across new build and retrofit projects in cities. With a wide operating envelope, this is suitable for a mix of energy sources, from ground arrays and surface water to centralised plant and waste heat from nearby assets. According to the company, the QG delivers heating, cooling and domestic hot water in a single integrated unit, featuring an accumulator tank that acts as a thermal battery with heat storage up to 90˚C. With FlexReady functionality and API connectivity, it optimises energy use by operating during periods of low electricity prices or renewable surplus and is ready for flexible energy markets. Domestic hot water is produced instantly via a heat exchanger, eliminating legionella risk and simplifying water quality requirements. The QG uses r290 refrigerant and is available with
an inbuilt source-side pump for use in individual or shared ground source projects, or with a PIC-valve (QG-C) for use in ambient loop, both as 7kW and 14kW options. It also features intuitive controls.

www.essmag.co.uk
• Decarbonised industrial process heating in food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and more
• Heat recovery from chiller and refrigeration plants • Booster heat pumps for cascade thermal systems. Erik Van Oossanen, product management leader at
Trane, said: “Waste heat recovery is gaining traction, but the integration of thermal management systems that combine heating and cooling remains a big opportunity to improve the return on investment of decarbonisation. Trane solutions enable business owners to maximise energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. With the introduction of RTWF HT, Trane is poised to accelerate the deployment of heat pump technology into the industrial sector, enabling a wide array of applications from food manufacturing to district heating.”

DAIKIN EXPANDS ‘STYLISH’ HEAT PUMP RANGE WITH TEXTURED PRINTED FINISHES
Daikin has expanded its ‘Stylish’ range of air- to-air heat pumps, which measure just 189mm deep, to suit the demands of residential and commercial applications, including boutique retail and luxury hospitality. The new collection uses advanced textured
printing technology to emulate natural and tactile materials, without the limitations of tarnishing, need to polish or re-stain. These are: Light wood style with white body; Oak wood style with black body; Grey fabric with black body; Dark brown leather style and black body; and Colourful fabric style with white body. The Stylish range features an intelligent integrated thermal sensor, which scans
each space as a 64 area grid to detect temperature variations to evenly spread air throughout the space, before targeting specific zones that need heating or cooling. Meanwhile the Coanda effect gently guides airflow along walls and ceilings to create a soft, natural climate, throughout the room. Of further benefit, the Stylish units achieve outstanding (up to A+++) energy
performance in both heating and cooling, providing a sustainable solution that reduces long-term operating costs, and are fully compatible with the Daikin Onecta app, offering voice control via Google Home or Amazon Alexa. For professional installers, the Daikin Cloud Service Residential allows for remote
monitoring, ensuring faster diagnostics and proactive maintenance. Daikin
