Jeonghee “JJ” Jin, CEO of NC America, tells Vince Pavey about what her company does, why now is the time for her publishing arm to grow, and why she’s optimistic about 2025
NC AMERICA S
o for those who might not know — what is NC America? NC America is the Western publishing
arm of NCSOFT. That means we cover all of Europe, North and South America, and the Oceana territories. We’re also the strategic and business arm of NCSOFT in the West, which means we work on the NCSOFT global business strategy and business growth — through both the publishing business and investment and partnership opportunities in the West. We’re a brand new studio established in 2023 and owned 100% by NCSOFT. We currently have three PC MMORPGs
here in the West: Lineage 2, Blade & Soul, and Aion. Here in the Irvine office where the majority of the employees are based, we have a dedicated community team that speaks

with our game community daily. We’re very dedicated. “Handling” live service games comprises issuing regular content updates, regular communication, and paying attention to the constant evolution of our community and how it reacts to our games. Last December we worked closely with
NCSOFT HQ to launch an experimental “idle MMO”, Journey of Monarch, globally, to gauge how well our Lineage IP would do in that emerging genre. Moving forward, we also launched Blade & Soul NEO, the remastered version of our iconic MMORPG Blade & Soul just in February, and that’s receiving excellent response. Now we’re working on a huge new update for Lineage II, called “Wolf ”, and we also will have new news about Aion soon, as well as a handful of new games to be announced mid-year.
