DIGITAL SOLUTIONS
2020 has been a strange year for many of us. But one thing that remains is innovation across the industry. Kennedy’s takes a look back through the past year at some of the impressive ingredients and packaging machinery creations.
2020 Looking back: Packaging highlights
Pack 202 Earlier this year, Syntegon Technology launched next generation flow wrappers – the Pack 202. It’s suitable for bars, bakery products, cookies and crackers, as well as non-food applications.
As the successor of the Pack 201, the machine is a fully automated horizontal flow wrapping machine for low to medium speeds. Manufacturers benefit from a number of technological advances that were first introduced on the new Pack 403 last year, including an easily removable discharge belt, upgrades to the cross-seal and fin seal units, and a highly intuitive user-centred design.
tna robag® 3e
Back in February, tna solutions introduced its latest iteration of robag-3 packaging series – the tna robag® 3e. Described as the “most advanced vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) system in the world”, it features integrated real- time communication software and smart diagnostics.
Commenting at the time, Steven Wolfe, General Manager, tna North America, said: “In an industry where the real and virtual worlds are increasingly converging, digital control systems must become more sophisticated to deliver the levels of automation and performance expected – from a single piece of equipment to entire production lines.”
