The display has a super high resolution of 1080(RGB) x 1080 pixels with a pitch of 0.1176 x 0.1176mm all packed into an active display area of diameter 127.1mm. The compact, lightweight module has outline dimensions of 136.53(V) x 132.20(H) x 1.98(D)mm and weighs just 70grams. IPS “All View” technology produces ultra-wide viewing angles of 80°/80°/80°/80° plus a high contrast ratio of 1200:1, a 16.7M colour palette and a 300cd/m² brightness LED backlight ensures the display can deliver a dynamic, colourful and vibrant GUI in many different environments. For fast, low power communication the module incorporates the latest HIMAX HX8399 controller IC offering 1,2,3 or 4 lane MIPI interfacing. With these attributes and a wide operating temperature range of -20°C ~ 60°C

the module is suitable for a host of industrial, medical and auto/aero applications. www.craftdata.co.uk

NXS Series, New Ultra-High Density, Space Qualified Interconnect Specifically designed and tested for High-Speed Space applications up to 10 Gbps

Smiths Interconnect, a leading provider of technically differentiated electronic components, subsystems, microwave and radio frequency products for demanding applications announced the release of its new NXS Series, the ultra-high density interconnect specifically designed and tested for critical space flight applications. Today, space satellites are moving away from RF Analog-based payloads providing low-speed telecommunication signaling, to a new Digital Transparent Processor architecture for high throughput satellites. This architecture increases the demand for rugged and higher speed connectivity. NXS forms the interconnect backplane that enables a scalable satellite design using as many or as few “modular digital processors” as required, at the same time ensuring signal integrity and high resistance to shock. “Satellite manufacturers often use large singular printed circuit boards featuring very high value components. The NXS Series provides them with a solderless PCB mounted connector that can be placed and replaced with very low risk to their board“ said Mark Kelleher, Vice President and General Manager of the Connector Business Unit at Smiths Interconnect.

RTI Accelerates Autonomous and Electric Vehicle Innovation with First Data-Centric Software Framework with Functional Safety Certification Real-Time Innovations announced that foundational components of RTI Connext Drive® are now certified to ISO 26262 ASIL D, the most stringent Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) for road vehicles. Connext Drive is already proven-in-use as the underlying software framework for multiple production vehicle models on the road today, leading to more than 64% CAGR over the last three years. ASIL D certification provides OEMs with

even more assurance of Connext Drive suitability for safety-critical applications, including autonomous driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Unlike legacy Electrical/Electronic (E/E) architectural approaches designed for static vehicle software, Connext Drive employs an agile data-centric integration paradigm. Thus, developers can add and update services to introduce new capabilities without having to modify or re-certify any other software components. Connext Drive is the first data-centric software framework certified to ASIL D. It now supports QNX® OS for Safety to ISO 26262 ASIL D, the industry-leading safe RTOS. www.rti.com/drive

Omron launches high inrush capability relay for safe, smart lighting controls

New from Omron Electronic Components Europe is the G5RL-K-EL latching relay tailored for the high inrush performance needed in smart building automation systems and for the control of capacitive loads. The new low-profile power relay – ideal for controlling fluorescent and LED lamps – has an innovative single contact structure, making it a highly competitive solution. The new 16A G5RL-K-EL latching type relay is approved to IEC60669-1, and has a high inrush current capability up to 255A,

making it ideal for demanding switching environments where loads vary enormously. The device is also compatible with the International Safety Standard for Electrical/ Electronic Household Appliances (IEC60335-1). Omron Electronic Components Europe strongly supports its customers in Western and Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS through 8 regional offices, a network of local offices and partnerships with specialist, local, regional and global distributors. http://components.omron.eu

EDAC

At the heart of every electronic device is a printed circuit board (PCB) that is connected to power supplies, controls and displays. To achieve this, designers need connectors that will provide reliable, worry-free performance. The Inline family from EDAC is a comprehensive range of PCB-mounted board-to-wire and wire-to-wire connectors. The latest introduction is the 140 series which delivers a rugged design and reliable performance in a cost-effective package. The 140 series employs the popular 2.00mm pitch to combine compact size and good electrical performance. The 140 series is an ideal solution for a wide range of applications that require cost effective and reliable connectors, from consumer goods to medical equipment. The fully shrouded header is available in options for both surface mount and through- hole termination, whilst the socket insulator is polarised to prevent mis-mating. The 140 series provides an audible click when mated, which saves time and effort for busy installers. The socket connectors can be fitted with crimp contacts that can accommodate wires sized between 30 AWG and 24AWG. They are available in options between 2 and 16 positions and carry up to 2 Amps per circuit. The insulators are manufactured from UL 94V-0 rated material and can operate in temperatures between -40°C and 125°C, making them ideal for both consumer appliances and industrial equipment. Electrical and mechanical performance is vital to electronic design. However, just as important is supplier performance. Recent events have placed enormous pressure on the supply chain within electronics. Coming to the aid of hard-pressed buyers, the 140 series is designed to use the same space envelope and PCB footprint as the PH series from JST.

Whether you are looking for a brand-new

connector or a drop-in replacement for hard-to-find alternatives, the 140 series from EDAC delivers a cost-effective solution to your supply chain worries.
