TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION Riello’s premix burners now up to 3MW

Riello RX premix packaged burners are now available in outputs up to 3MW, offering NOx levels of less than 40mg/kWh, with high turndown ratios of up to 8:1, across a wide range of models. Riello RX burners feature an exclusive

design that includes a patented woven wire gauze ‘sock’ covering the combustion head cylinder. Gas and combustion air are mixed upstream of the combustion head and then pass through precision-located ports and the gauze ‘sock’ to ignite on the external surface of the combustion head. This arrangement enables a very compact flame with a diameter

directly related to the burner firing rate, ensuring precise heat control and optimum efficiency at all loads. The high turndown makes RX burners ideal for systems with variable heat loads where low NOx levels are also required.

Clearmark works with beverage companies to remove downtime

Research has shown that the beverage industry is highly competitive with less than 6% profit margin across the industry. For this reason, any unexpected downtime can be the difference between profitability and losses. Clearmark has worked with beverage producers to

eradicate downtime by building the ‘Quad ICE Vulcan Zero Downtime Labelling System’. This nifty system enabled the customer to print on both sides of secondary packaging with four automatic application types seamlessly matching the 500mm per second throughput. The system has been designed so when any of the printers need a consumable replenishment,

the linked standby applicator takes over, completely removing any costly downtime or wastage. Clearmark recently won the PPMA’s Innovative Ancillary Equipment category for a similar solution. If you would like to work with a company that understands the damage of downtime and has the

creativity and intelligence to deliver award-winning, downtime-busting solutions please get in touch with your challenge:

Learn how a switch to robots could help transform your competitiveness

If you’ve ever considered adding robots to your production line but don’t know where to start, then ABB’s Switch to Robots seminar could be exactly what you need. Taking place at ABB’s Milton Keynes training site on Thursday 21st November 2019, the seminar will provide a simple step-by-step guide to introducing robotic automation to the factory floor.

Starting with the question ‘Could you benefit from a robot?’,

the event will cover the key aspects of developing, specifying and financing a robotic installation. ABB will demonstrate how to develop the right solution for your needs, and how to calculate the potential return on investment that can be achieved in different types of applications.

There will also be the opportunity to learn from the

experiences of an SME manufacturer who has introduced robots to their factory floor, plus the chance to get hands-on experience of operating a robot in ABB’s Robot Training Centre.

FACTORY&HANDLINGSOLUTIONS | NOVEMBER 2019 49 “UK manufacturers are struggling to keep pace with other

leading nations that are able to quickly produce high-quality goods at low costs. For UK SMEs to remain competitive and boost their productivity they must embrace the latest production technologies,” says Nigel Platt, LBL Manager for ABB Robotics in the UK and Ireland.

“Our Switch to Robots event has been designed to help businesses identify whether a robot could be beneficial and explain the steps they need to take in finding the best solution for their requirements.”
