Efficient conveying technology for a relaxed airport experience
Airports are often the starting point of a journey. However, getting to the plane is a journey in and of itself. In addition, the compact design of the TB40 belt conveyor enables space-saving bag drops and self-service bag drops without any side contours that get in the way. This is of great value especially given the high cost of floor space at airports. Another advantage: The belt conveyor’s 24 VDC motor enables the transport of baggage weighing up to 200 kg and it complies with low-voltage guidelines. Additional protection against contact is therefore not required.
Smooth security screening Once the baggage has been checked in, passengers continue on to the carry-on baggage check. Two Montech products are used here. The TB40 belt conveyor is once again perfectly suited for use for security screening. Thanks to its modular adaptability, it can be integrated seamlessly into various detection systems. Its compact design effectively minimizes space requirements. Its integrated 24 V drum drive effortlessly transports baggage while ensuring precise operations. And it is extremely energy-efficient, which not only reduces power consumption, but also the associated costs. In addition, the special belts of the TB40 belt conveyor ensure that baggage is transported silently.
Efficient in- and outfeed of baggage However, before the bags can be screened, they must first be put onto the TB40 belt conveyor. Montech also has the right solution for this: The RB40 roller conveyor. It ensures efficient infeed and outfeed of carry-on baggage during security screening. Thanks to its height-adjustable floor stands, which are available in various versions, the RB40 roller conveyor can be tilted effortlessly and continuously if required. Its compact and robust design ensures a smooth flow and thus optimizes the overall system.

Packing problem solved with fast delivery of new equipment
Imagine dealing with a key item of packaging equipment going down. One well-known fitted kitchen manufacturer recently had to deal with this costly nightmare - but a replacement machine supplied by Yorkshire Packaging Systems (YPS) had them back on track in no time. As one of the UK’s largest and most well-established manufacturers of fitted kitchens and other furniture, and with customers including housing developers and social housing providers depending on them, this producer had to keep their products moving. Following the issue, as a temporary, emergency measure, manual packing was used which proved time-consuming and costly. New equipment was needed in place as soon as possible. The equipment in question was the company’s bagging machine, used to pack hardware fixings into bags and therefore essential for completing delivery of their products. “We had previously supplied sleeve wrappers and pallet wrappers to this kitchen manufacturer, but not bagging machinery. They knew that we could also supply this and were pleased with the quality of the products we supply and the service and support we offer, so they contacted us to discuss what they needed,” explained YPS MD Glyn Johnson. Following discussions, YPS delivered two Sharp Max 12 bagging machines, within just a few
weeks of agreeing the order. These high-speed machines can each pack up to 50 bags per minute. As a plug-and-play machine that’s simple to use, the equipment was up and running with no delay. YPS are also supplying the clear polybags used with the machines, to ensure complete compatibility with the new equipment. “This customer is now back to their usual swift rate of packing their products, with as little
delay as possible,” continued Glyn. “It’s a privilege to now be supplying all of the packaging needs for this impressive UK manufacturer.”
