Dynamic flow sensor for detecting microdoses

EGE designed its dynamic SDN 501/1 GSP-DYN flow controller to detect minimal pulsating flow rates from 0.02 ml. Suitable for most common liquids such as water, alcohol, oils, and fluid greases, the flow sensor is ideal for monitoring minimum lubrication or ensuring that the right amounts of chemicals or additives are metered out. Since the sensor operates according to the thermodynamic principle, it does not have any moving or corrosion-prone wear-and-tear parts. Due to its high sensitivity, it reacts to changing flow rates – caused for example by the actuation of a dosing piston – with extremely short reaction times of 0.1 s. The sensor's built-in processing unit emits a switching signal for each detected pulse via a short-circuit-proof PNP-NO output and can hold the signal for up to 10 s.

ADVERTORIALS

Konecranes wins order for S-series cranes from Swiss metal trader

Konecranes has won an order for its innovative S- series overhead cranes from a new customer, häuselmann metall GmbH. The order was received in February 2020 and the cranes will be installed by February 2021. The order from häuselmann, the largest independent metal trader in Switzerland, includes five 1.6 ton SWL cranes and two 2.5 ton SWL cranes, which will be used for incoming and outgoing material flow, as well as the movement of stock for cutting and storing processes. The S-series crane features Konecranes’ new barb free, synthetic rope, which makes load

carrying simpler and safer. It does not require lubrication, which can result in reduced maintenance costs for the rope drum and sheaves. The revolutionary trolley and reeving arrangement reduces wheel loads by up to 45% compared with previous hoist generations.

QTMB grommet: One size fits all!

icotek presents its first split multi-range grommets QTMB. At the same time, the company is also presenting new sizes for the screwless pre-assembled cable entry KEL-QUICK. The new QTMB grommet

enables the entry of pre- terminated cables into the KEL-QUICK system from icotek. The highlight is the flexibility of the grommets, which is up to 3 mm. The variable clamping range makes the QTMB very interesting if the exact cable diameter is not yet known. The innovative wave cut ensures a greater seal. For the first time even larger cables with clamping ranges up to 23 mm can be inserted thanks to the new QTMB grommet.

New Demag chain hoist features balancer function for intuitive load control

• Accurate load positioning via controller or manual guidance • Four selectable operating modes for safe and precise material handling

Lifting equipment manufacturer, Demag, has launched a new range of electric chain hoists. The DCBS models feature a compact design and a smart control system, making material handling and assembly processes simpler and safer. The DCBS is a variable-speed chain hoist based on the company’s proven DCS range and incorporates the Demag D-Grip Servo control handle. Models are available with SWLs of 125 or 160 kg. The DCBS chain hoist benefits from an integrated balancer

function, which has been adopted from the Demag D-BE electric balancer. It enables loads to be guided without the need to actuate the controller.
