SHOW PREVIEW FEATURE Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2020

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to Farnborough from 11-13 February 2020. As in past years, the 2020 event will welcome an impressively wide exhibitor list, covering the complete range of engineering activities, from high-tech machine tools and automation to components and subcontract services

IP67. All are available in a wide number of standard sizes. iDaC Solutions is a specialist in high

performance data and control cabling systems for industrial environments and enterprise networks. Its offering includes screened structured cabling system and fibre optics, industrial grade enclosures, modular power distribution systems, control and robotics cabling, and modular containerised data centres. The show also features a free seminar

F

irms from across the UK will be present, together with a substantial

number of exhibitors from across Europe, Asia and the Far East. The organisers expect the 20,000m²

Farnborough International Exhibition Centre to be filled to capacity, and are confident of exceeding last year’s record-breaking attendance, which came close to 9,000 people. The variety of products on show is

staggering; everything from C-Class components such as fastenings, springs and a myriad of brackets, switches and stand-offs, to displays, sensors, specialist power supplies and components for IoT and RF LoRa applications. Temperature control, process control,

measurement and data recording products and services will be highlighted by Eurotherm by Schneider Electric. Designed for easy operation and reduced engineering time, its control algorithms, recording and data management strategies are designed to add value to industrial processes, improve quality, reduce waste and ensure data is kept safe for as long as it is needed. Smart and configurable power supplies

will be exhibited by Cosel Europe. Visitors will see a range of single output and configurable output power supplies which offer digital communication as standard. Connected by UART or PMBus, users can monitor and control up to 85 commands on the power supply.

Relec will show a range of AD/DC

power supplies, DC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters and displays. Products for rail applications comply with national and international railway standards EN50121-3-2, EN50155. Many of the products distributed by the firm also benefit from having been listed on the Network Rail parts and drawing system (PADS). CODICO is an Austrian distributor of

high quality active and passive electronic components and interconnect systems, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IoT, M2M, embedded system-on-modules, smart sensors, power management and displays. At Southern 2020, the firm will focus on its power management solutions, ranging from discrete components, DC-DC modules, through to both open and enclosed AC-DC power supplies. The show is also well known as an

excellent marketplace for subcontract manufacturing services. Again, there is a wide range of such services available, from both UK and suppliers from across Europe and beyond. Several designs of high performance sealed enclosures, including the IP68 1557 desktop or wall mounting family, will be exhibited for the first time in the UK by Hammond Manufacturing. Other recently introduced products include the 1554 and 1555 IP68 models and the 1550 and 1590 die cast enclosures for EMC and sealing up to

programme. The wide ranging programme of over 30 sessions - running in two dedicated lecture theatres - considers a wide variety of topics, from technical summaries of issues including CE marking, 3D print, advanced materials and Industry 4.0, to more management oriented ideas such as best practice in manufacturing, implementing Lean and approaches to marketing specialised products successfully. The exhibition will once again be

working together with a group of leading organisations, which will be sharing their expertise via the seminar programme. These include the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium, alongside national bodies including Composites UK, NetComposites, the Confederation of British Metalforming, the GTMA and the British Gear Association. Also taking part this year is Locate in Kent, an organisation offering a wide variety of services and help to enterprises looking to locate in the area. Admission to the exhibition is free

of charge.
