Like any good business we did our due diligence and what we found was that Mirka is the tool of choice for a multitude of customers including decorators, builders and joiners and the fact that our team knew it was a high-end brand fit in nicely with the type of products we were already selling.”


Knowledge is key


Upon signing on the dotted line there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes before the tools hit the shop floor. The key is ensuring that the stores taking on the tools have the necessary knowledge to enable them to answer customers’ questions. The Mirka team assisted with this by training the branches stocking the products. This was important because these machines are not what you would describe as run-of-the-mill products and, due to their price point, they are a considered purchase because the customer must weigh up the pros and cons of the tools.


In addition, Mirka’s consumables


offering, which includes discs and sheets, is sold because of the quality finish it delivers. This quality is well known throughout the sector but for us, it was also important to highlight to the customer the key USPs such as a longer life span and, when combined with a Mirka sander and dust extractor, the abrasives provide a dust-free work environment, which is a bonus. Alongside the training that we completed, we know that if there is a product update the local Mirka representative will pass this information on to the power tools personnel in the branch. This ensures that our team has access to the latest information for our customers.
