A traditional hotel in Blackpool has been transformed into nine bespoke luxury holiday apartments to provide guests with modern and stylish accommodation.
Located by the Fylde Coast, Swish Holiday Apartments combine comfort and style, offering visitors a home away from home. Thoughtfully designed by owner Tom Sumner and his team to enhance the unique character of each space, the transformation commenced in 2023, and the project was completed last year. To ensure the longevity of the paintwork,
Crown Trade’s Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt was used on the apartment’s interior walls and ceilings. It’s a durable, stain-resistant emulsion that can withstand regular cleaning without compromising its rich colour saturation making it the perfect choice for future-proofing the interior. LOSE YOURSELF IN THE DRAMA OF ARBOUR
Unapologetically dramatic, a new wall mural from family- run design house By Haleys offers a new take on floral wallcoverings. With tall tree trunks stretching
skywards and luscious foliage bursting from every angle, Arbour is bold and brave. It depicts a striking forest scene, complete with fast- flowing stream, that offers an escape from reality. Its canopy of leaves and branches weave a natural ceiling and envelopes
homeowners in a fantasy woodland adventure. Richard Haley, creative director of By Haleys, says: “With Arbour, we wanted to create a mural that showed both the opulence and majesty of the natural world in a very theatrical way. “Botanical and nature-inspired wallcoverings can be quite subtle, but we wanted to create something that was bold and brooding.
VALSPAR LAUNCHES ‘COUPLES COLOUR MATCHING TOOL’
Valspar has launched a couples colour matching tool that allows customers to discover the perfect colour palette for their couple, making cohabiting simpler than ever. Whether it’s recreating the colour of the front door of a first home, or a colour that represents a first date, the colour- matching tool allows users to build a home around memorable moments.
The clever tool allows users to view the key colours in the palette as well as select any additional colours to build the couples palette around. According to Country Living Magazine, as many as 27% of couples argue over decorating decisions, with paint colours being one of the most popular argument starters. After uploading the desired photo, and selecting the colours from the picture, customers will then need to find the closest Valspar colour match on the website, or take the picture to a B&Q store, where the Valspar colour matching team will scan the sample and create the custom colour recipe. The ingenious process is designed to help couples find the perfect colour to match the

relationship, but also help save time and money. Once the colour has been matched to the sample, customers can choose the exact type of paint needed. The in store teams can help select the right product for the desired project, and will then mix the colour formula into a tin of paint to take home. Additionally, customers can also name and save the custom colour in the in-store system so they can visit any B&Q and mix another tin of the ‘couple’s colour’ any time.

carefully curated a palette that transitions seamlessly from fiery warmth to cool serenity, creating a dynamic tapestry that captures the essence of a forest bathed in ever-changing light.”
The wall mural was brought to life by Design Director Geoff Haley, an artist with more than 40 years’ experience in the interiors’ industry. It was inspired by the landscapes of West Yorkshire
and hand-painted by Geoff, and the mural depicts every paint stroke adding a unique textural appearance.
Arbour is available now from By Haleys in three colourways: Cerulean, Moss and Celadon and three different finishes: Premier Vinyl, Grasscloth and Matte Uncoated. Visit
