Partnerships manager, Zoe Lawrence (44), bought her 1930s house for herself and her two children after separating from their father. Before, this bathroom lacked design and warmth before the homeowner transformed it. After, new tiles, ambient lighting, accessories and innovative bathing technology breathed new life into this space (@1930s_solo_renovation). Because of Covid-19 and the bathroom’s small size, only one contractor at a time could carry out work to allow for social distancing. This meant the bathroom took five weeks to renovate. “My approach so far with the entire renovation has been to project manage the work myself rather than use a builder to oversee everything to ensure transparency and reduce costs,” said Zoe.

She chose a Mira Mode Bath Fill and Shower: “The push- button controls and programmable phone app have made this an absolute winner and installing the main control central to the bath means you can operate the shower without getting a wet arm (a pet hate!) and top up the bath easily whilst relaxing!”


Katie Elvins, a 32-year-old graphic designer in Bristol, is the brain behind this bathroom transformation. Before, this bathroom lacked contrast and style before its renovation. After, new floor tiles, oak features and contrasting colours made this space instantly more stylish (@katieelvins). Katie said: “Colour, pattern and texture is important to me. I wanted to make the bathroom bright and add some contrast of colour to the freshly painted white tiles. It’s a tiny room, so I wanted to make it as impactful as I could.” She told Mira Showers that apart from hiring an electrician to install the electric shower, and a plasterer to take care of the ceiling, everything else was DIY.”
