Fiskars enhances sustainability goals

Fiskars, the UK’s leading gardening tool supplier, is further enhancing its ongoing commitment to a

strong sustainability vision by supporting consumers who want to make purchasing decisions that can make a difference to the world around them.

Taking influence from areas such as new product development and packaging, the company’s sustainability

strategy

will continue to roll out across 2021. It is already resulting in the design of pioneering new products for the gardening tools market, which enables consumers to make greener choices, whilst simultaneously addressing concerns about the level of plastic use in consumer product packaging. The sustainability initiatives also provide retailers with a strong selling message so they can meet growing consumer expectations for long lasting product solutions that enable a sustainable lifestyle and have a positive effect on the environment.

Exciting and industry leading new

product innovation is seen in the recently launched Fiskars Recycled Scissors, which provide tangible proof that innovative design can deliver a green solution. The Fiskars Classic Scissors has remained one of the brand’s most successful products, with over one billion pairs sold to date. Fiskars is introducing a new version of its multi-purpose scissors; the Recycled Scissors made from recycled and 100% recyclable materials.

composed of post-consumer plastic and renewable wood fibre, and blades created from recycled stainless steel, the scissors aim to be Fiskars’ front-runner product in sustainability.

The new Fiskars Recycled

Scissors will also help to provide retailers with significant new business building opportunities and furnish consumers with a high quality, eco-friendly product solution designed to perform for a generation. Fiskars is also launching a new Pruner portfolio in 2021, consisting of eight pruners from three different ranges. The Solid™, Plus™ and X-Series™ collections offer a variety of pruners that are suitable for both experienced and novice gardeners alike, offering more accessibility for purchasers and new targeting opportunities for retailers. The portfolio also contributes to Fiskars’ vision for sustainability as it features 80% less plastic compared to current packaging.
