Mannok has invested a further €2.1 million in its cement bagging facilities with the acquisition of state-of-the-art technology which will double the output capacity of its weatherproof bagged cement product range.

spout bag filling system for packing powdery products in weatherproof bags and a new automatic film reel
changer, designed to run at 1,200 bags per hour. The new machinery has been fully integrated into Mannok’s existing line in order to expand the packing capacity c50 tonnes of cement in weatherproof bags per hour. This is addition to a similar packing capacity for traditional paper bags.

Bostik adds to training offer

Leadership changes at IBMG
Independent Builders Merchants Group, the builders merchant that includes Parkers, Chandlers, Stamco Timber and Fairalls in its portfolio, has announced that chief executive, Andrew Cope, is handing the leadership of the organisation to Allun Pittingale, now group managing director as part of a planned succession. Cope will remain as business development director of the group – specifically in charge of further acquisitions and green- field sites. Simultaneously, Danny Spokes has ben promoted to managing director of Chandlers Roofing Supplies and Trevor Mudd to managing director of Stamco Timber reflecting their

respective roles in building both divisions.
Cope took over as CEO of IBMG in late 2019 following the acquisition of Chandlers Building Supplies, bringing his focused leadership to the integration of the Parkers, Chandlers, Fairalls and Stamco Timber businesses.
Pittingale joined the group in May 2020 from Travis Perkins where he was regional manag- ing director for the South East. Spokes has been responsible for significant growth in Chandlers Roofing Supplies and Mudd has similarly built Stamco Timber to new levels.

Naylor Specialist Plastics Ltd has bought Schauenburg Technical Solutions Ltd,a Gainsborough-based manufacturer and supplier of ventilation duct, pultrusions, GRP pipes, formwork and other technical products. The company has some £4m turnover and 20 employees. There is some overlap with the existing Naylor range as both businesses manufacture ventilation duct but
Schauenburg also introduces some new products to Naylor, most notably the Novoform permanent formwork range and a pultrusion manufacturing capability. Schauenburg has been renamed Naylor Technical Solutions Ltd and will operate as a “stand alone” subsidiary of Naylor Specialist Plastics Ltd. Activities will continue on the Gainsborough site and Schauenburg’s Chris Simpson will remain with the business as Managing Director, overseeing its integration into the Naylor Group.
The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) will launch a new product Forum covering Insulation and Dry Lining in
October.To be chaired by Andy Williamson, Commercial Director at SIG UK, the new Forum will meet for the first time on 28 October at BMF’s head office in Coventry. In taking on the role of Chairman of the Forum Williamson plans to bring merchants and suppliers together to discuss the current challenges being experienced by all in the supply chain and facilitate a better understanding of how everyone can work better together on these along with looking at future trends and opportunities including changes in legislation
